I have found most times people I'm racing with have 'glitching' with spektrum it is the wires that you plug into the reciv..the plug ends don't always seat great..

Then regain control and loose it again a few corners later. That may not be it but I'd be curious if yours cutts off if you touch it with your finger like mine did.

Hmm mine unit don't cut off when I touch it with my fingers. I don't really know whats the problem, and as you said, sometimes it works 100% and it will suddenly hunt you when you are going into the sweeper from the back straight and realised the car is not responding to what you do........

I recently purchased the Spektrum system for my KO Helio. It is the PRO Version. However I am still facing problems. The car would glitch and sometimes loose control completely. It only happens to certain parts of the track and sometimes it is completely fine, and next lap it is completely disasterous.

I am using KO VFS-1 ESC, with KO Servo. Do I need to adjust the ESC as my friend pointed out to me that I need to increase the Voltage in the ESC to 4.0V and it may solve the problem.

I am even running the Spektrum Capacitor but still no luck.

Please advice.

Thank you.

I have been using the equiptment your mentioning for a long time with Spektrum. Two things you should check with the first being to ensure you have the BEC set to 4.0 volts, and the second "glitching" is more than likely the connector in the receiver. I had what an intermitent "glitch" at the last carpet nationals and after a lot of frustration found it was the connector from the esc. After tightening the connector (temporary) all worked just fine, and I then replaced the connector and am still using the same equiptment now and have not had a single problem. It was frustrating until this connector was discovered.

Thanks for the reply. I thought I would need to set the BEC to 4.0V! Just need to borrow my mates controller next time. I will also check to see if all connectors are looking sweet. Thanks again.

I went back to my LHS today with my micro receiver to see if they could get it to bind but no luck. So we called Horizon and got a Spektrum tech on the phone. After explaining the problem he stated that it must be some internal problem and advised us to send it back. I hope I have better luck with the replacement receiver.

I just purchased a brand new Micro Receiver and to my surprise it will not bind. My other micro binds just fine but I get a glitch twice during a run. Where can I go to get these serviced under warranty?

Give Horizon Hobby a call and let them know what the problem is. They will be able to advise you where to send it.
contact Horizon

I hope am am not asking a idiotic question LOL.. But are the new pro recievers compatable with the older sm1000 tx module. I hope so because I am tired of the older rx module shut down issues...........

Capt.Micro 10-29-2006 07:58 AM

yes they are

Can anyone point me to instructions for making the antenna mod for my soon-to-be Spektrum-equipped Airtronics M-11?

Many thanks,

Scottrik

thx anyway.

I've got one of the older bigger spektrum rx's running 1/12 with a lrp qc2 and a capacitor. Only problem I have is if I smack a board it needs turned off and back on to restart everything. Can I send in just my rx and get it upgraded to get rid of this problem?

Read back through here, or go to the horizon hobby web site. If your running the old style tx on a airtronics radio, there was a fix to open the tx box, and re-route the tx antenna cable. I have several people at our track who this was a factor on. The problem was it would loose signal, and go to failsafe, then not come back on.

jbrow1 10-30-2006 06:09 AM

Thanks, found it on the horizon site. Weird that the antenna going across the board would make that happen.

RCGaryK 10-30-2006 06:21 AM

I would still suggest sending the receiver in and having the firmware updated. Re-routing the module antenna will help, but the new firmware provides a fix for the electrostatic discharge issue as well.
