quick question for you guys do I cut this off and solder it to the motor and do they make a longer sensor wire the one that came with the combo is way to short thanks If you like to change multiple motors very often, use the plugs. Otherwise, cut it and soldered to the motor tabs. Yes...Speed Passion does sell 180mm and 250mm sensor wires...good enough for 1/8th off road. |

hello
getting back into the hobby. please what is the difference between GT2.1 Pro Stock Brushless ESC and Cirtix Series "Stock Club Race" Sensored Electronic Speed Control? thanks Stock Club Race esc does not have these option...it has no timing, strictly for the ROAR sportsman, no timing, USVTA type of class racing. Both are great ESC.......... |
how well u think the gt2.1 would do in a sc10 4x4 ??

I used 528 mod with 7.5 in 2wd and 4wd for the past few months with most of the settings near the max without any problems. Its the last sc setting you want to tame down to -3 or so to keep motor temps in check. Especially in warmer weather. I used 23/78 geared in a b4 and 22/78 in a b44
Heard these ORCA motors have lots of grunt anyway so may flash back to 205. I have a habbit of generating heat which is what I want to avoid. |

I was wondering what is the difference between the GT2.1 and the GT2.0? Is the 2.1 worth the extra $45?
Thanks Mark |
I have both, but personally like the 2.1. All alum top half and all black look stealth.
Diff is 2.1 comes preloaded with supercharger software for Spec racing. 2.0 does not, both can be reflashed to run whatever you want with LCD card. 2.0 runs down to 3.5 motor and 2.1 handles down to 5.0 turn. Amainhobbies has great deals both http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...less-ESC-Black http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...C-Carbon-Black |
Didn't get to race this weekend but did get to spend a few hours at the track. Love the 205 Mod, pulls better out of the corners, a little more top than what I was running before, and brake feel is better. 6.5 temped 165 deg F after a hard 10 min run in B44, ambient temps were 92 deg, about all I can ask for.
212 Stock sofware is nails. I can't believe what you can get out of what passes for a "Stock" motor these days LOL. My B4 was absolute money for about 6 minutes, until the motor got above 150 deg and faded a little. Still pretty good even so, but the motor would come off after 10 minutes at about 155 to 160. Wouldn't care except it did fade a little at those temps. This is with a Trinity Nemesis 17.5, FDR 6.24, running the 212 Stock settings David posted on Pg. 1. Anybody have experience with that motor? Top end is not an issue, I could go down a tooth on the pinion if it will help motor temps. I have a 17.5 Duo 3 on the way, but would like to be able to use both motors if I can keep the Nemesis under 150. |
Hi
Thanks for the info, what settings really affect heat etc? If I have been running a 6.5 V3 in 4wd, what motor would you go for based on the extra SC settings etc. Regards, Mike

Get some blank setup sheets for 528 Write down the default settings for 528 mod as a referance. I would then start with Cockerill's 422 setup below as a base. You can compare the two. 422 is "hotter" and more aimed for stock so I believe settings should be pretty safe. Watch temps! |
Anyone have a great condition Speed Passion 3.0 BL in 8.5 that they are looking to sell? Need one for 1/10 2wd buggy.
Thanks! Chirag |
Just a heads up on our previous discuission about running a 7.5 on the 2.0 pro without a fan in a 2wd buggy.. I ran the car as hard as I could till lipo cutoff, and temped the heatsink at 108 degrees.... the speedo is a tank.

Rob And yes...its been tested with NOVAK HV5.5. the new 550 and Tekin 550....all works. Just pick your choice of motor. And Speed Passion will release our own 550 motor soon....our driver is testing it now. Both 4X4 and 1/8th....it is the best so far. |

Except, I don't like your part that TEST it until lipo cutoff.....just can't rely on that cutoff thing all the time...you know, sh_t does happen sometime...LOL |
Looking at getting the GT2.1 just trying to figure out which versions I need. I will be putting it in my Schumacher Cat SX2. For now I plan on using the Novak Ballistic 7.5t motor I have and getting another motor or two in the future. If I am reading this thread right I should get the Pro stock?? Specs say it is limited to 9.5t but this is because of the software it comes loaded with. So if I change the software it has loaded I will be able to run down to a 5.5t??

V1.36 released
............and we are not going to support V1.35 anymore and thats why I removed the old version, and I will remove all the previous old version cause all the software we had so far are be found in the new V1.36. This software, the past 4 weeks tested by our drivers at mulitple tracks in USA, in STOCK class, totally murdered the others....then in MOD class, is totally surprised those who don't use BOOST on MOD....we proved that BOOST ON MOD is the way to go....8.5T run as fast as 6.5 and even better with launch power. GIVE THAT A TRY ON OFF ROAD... Stop using 1212 as this is not even close compare to the new 323STOCK software. Also, try the new 119MOD supercharger software for MOD motor. Here is the link....you guys will love it. Make sure read the attached PDF file as this Supercharger improvement is alittle different then the previous 1.35 or 1.33 version. http://www.speedpassion.net/us/escsetup.asp I am in the middle of creating some setup for 17.5 13.5 motor...as well as some 8.5 10.5 for mod...all are using 323STOCK software (YES, 323STOCK software for MOD racing)...and mainly in OFF ROAD setup, but I have some on road indoor and outdoor setup as well....stay tuned. Also, new 323stock and 119mod setup sheet.... http://www.speedpassion.net/files/Sp...k_6may2011.pdf IMPORTANT: You must update the LCD programmer from the 1.36 version before you can see the changes for the 323STOCK, it is a must do process. |

I run 4wd buggy on a tight indoor track. Right now using 10.5. With such a small track is it best to just use MOD205 with AMTS and no boost?
Can you perhaps give a brake down of when or why to use the following: MOD 119 MOD 528 MOD 205 MOD 508 With MOD 508 is that what stock racers running in no boost classes should be running? Anyway any feedback would be appreciated. MY TRACK for size reference: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=94B7prZ-YHs PROMO VID: http://www.youtube.com/user/rcnoobrc.../0/uG3uPBE1M1o |

MY TRACK for size reference: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=94B7prZ-YHs PROMO VID: http://www.youtube.com/user/rcnoobrc.../0/uG3uPBE1M1o I would use this ONLY if it is LARGE HUGH TRACK and supercharger/boost in use is a MUST. And you must run motor like 6.5 and faster. 100528MOD Old software...see above, I will use 110119MOD. 205g The bulletproof software...if nothing works, this software is the last to use. And for some track, boost/SC is not allow...then use this one. Ideal for fast mod like 5.5 and faster when adding boost on motor like that is not really have a lot of benefit. MOD 508 508 is here because your track/class NOT allowing any timing advance. Otherwise...you should not use it. Joel....Kochanski (mjk1210 here) raced something smaller and tighter then yours, and he used the new 323STOCK (not 119mod) with the 7.5 V3 motor. If you have to use 10.5....use 323STOCK with boost. Your track is capable to use BOOST and SC. |
Thanks!! I'll have to flash again!
I have a 10.5 and was considering getting a 7.5... So we will see.. What are the main differences between: 323STOCK and 119MOD since you said Kochanski used that on his 7.5 Once again thanks. Can't wait till race nite! :) |

Can't wait till race nite! :) Also on 119mod, the Boost timing and SC timing are alot less then 323STOCK...323 you can go as high as 64/40, 119, you can only go 16/20. Check out the new 323/119 setup sheet here. http://www.speedpassion.net/files/Sp...k_6may2011.pdf |
323STOCK setups are here
OK....I spend quite some time to gather all the setup I have so far for both ON ROAD and OFF ROAD...mainly are for stock. But with the 323STOCK software...it is kinda confused. Because I have driver use the same car from STOCK and actually raced in MOD...same thing, running the STOCK MOTOR on MOD then back to the open stock with the same setup and gearing. I don't know how to tell you guys....TRY IT. If you are confused...don't blame me, blame those who created BOOST.... All the new 323stock setup are here...find the class you want, I have SCT mod 8,5, to 2WD stock 17.5, 4WD mod with 8.5, TC 17.5 open, indoor carpet, outdoor asphalt, 13.5 and 10.5.... http://www.speedpassion.net/us/escsetup.asp |
I cant wait to run this new stock software, hard to believe it gets even better:eek:
|
I just got done running my SC10 with new stock software out in the road for a few minutes. Smooth low speed throttle feel, tons of braking and faster than ever. Now I have to figure out a good setup, thanks Speed Passion ;)

Is this common? Anyone else using the SC master and having problems? I was thinking about getting the esc/motor combo or would the Cirtix stock be a better choice for a SCT?
Thanks Mark I used mine for like 3 months now...using it to race at the OPEN STOCK class with others that run full boost and Supercharger....of course, I did not know that part and realized that without the boost, I can only be on B-main. My SCM esc double sided tape gave up on me so the ESC was bouncing up and down thru out the qualifier and main and still working at the end of the race.... |
So what base setup would you go for with a 7.5 for a cougar SV on Uk astro track?
Shouldn't have order the 6.5 for 4wd etc! :( |
hey guys im running a gt 2.0 lpf in my 22 with a 13.5 orion vortex. Ive gone up from the recommended 26t pinion to a 28t pinion and Im still not getting enough straight line speed or punch. Its good through the turns though. Im not using the LCD programmer and any special software just the basic program card. I did some bench tests and saw more power come out when the I increased the timing advance. From 0 to level 5 not much difference but level 6 and up, significantly more power. What I want to know is should I go back down to the 26t pinion which is whats recommended on the 22 gear chart or stick with the 28t. I just dont want to deal with creating too much heat. Any ideas guys?
Also Im running a mild drive profile, I believe its the "smooth" profile which is level 2 on the card. Should I try a more aggressive throttle profile before I do timing advance? Thing is I like the smoothness of the first 2 profiles. Im new to this esc guys help is appreciated. |
What are temps on motor now? The LPF GT has 205 mod loaded. Where is you AMTS set at? What about physical timing on motor? Turn it all the way up since your not running boost. Gear the motor until you reach top seed about 3/4 down the longest straight on the track. This should still give you plenty of rip on the infield.

I havn't ran a Orion, but I would set at mid on the motor first. Turn your timing up on the AMTS. Most run at 7 or 8 max for spec racing and even mod. Run some laps and check temps.
|
All right boys, LCD box upgraded, 0323Stock loaded on my GT 2.0 LPF. Time to read up on the new software and play around LOL. Think I'll leave 205Mod on my 2.0 Pro until I get the hang of the new software. BTW, been meanign to mention. If you go the setups on the SP website and choose 2wd Offroad, it gives you one page of setups, and shows a clickable icon for a 2nd page of setups at the bottom. But, if you click that icon, it links you to 4wd Stock TC, not a 2nd page of 2wd Offroad.

Ill tell u this... so far the SP/Orion combo is super smooth. And should I def increase motor timing right away or just go the esc route first? |

gotcha, should I go back down in gearing? The gear chart calls for a 26t with the stock spur. Currently at 28. Maybe I should do the recommended gearing and mess with the AMTS timing from there?

I'm running the SC Master combo in my SC10 and have a thermogun. What should I be aiming at? The endcap or the can?
Either way I haven't broken 140 degrees running in AZ with 22/84 gearing and a little timing. It's been a couple months now of twice a week racing and have been really happy with this combo. I'm hoping to get an SC10 4x4 soon and after looking at Novak, Tekin, LRP and CC, I think I'm going with the GT 2.1 ESC. I love the portable program card for quick changes and the constant updates to the firmware and support here. Keep up the good work guys! |
