I'm running the Silver Arrow V2.0 in my Hotbodies HHH Ve8 and I love it more then the Tekin Rx8 I got rid of it so I could get another Silver Arrow for my other Ve8. As for the motor I'm running a Tekin so not sure on motor

Wanting to do a mod truck Im hooked on SP after trying the Silver Arrow in my buggy.
What's the best Esc to run in a 2wd Slash 17.5 - 10.5 motor with boost like the mmp.
Has anyone ran the 2200kv motor that comes with silver arrow, how does it run and is it reliable? I've heard stories of the motor coming apart

Well I'm sorry guys but this thing ain't working for me & feel like selling it tbh.

I have downloaded everything you all mentioned it still don't work got no idea why.
I'm not IT whizz so all I know is internet & that's it tbh.

I downloaded the software today -

USB/LCD/PC Interface V1.37

When I then plug the HW LCD in it says the following on the software -
Device Type - LCD Program Unit
Hardware Version - HW310 V1.0
Software Version - V1.07_110119
Choice Version - VV1.07_110119 or V1.06_100617

So I have currently got - V1.06_100617

The LCD just keeps saying - Connecting PC

So I plug in the ESC - Select Device - ESC Speed Controller won't do anything else?

I have tried pressing the buttons on the HW LCD nothing works?

So I don't know what I'm doing wrong now feel like going back to LRP tbh been at it nearly 3hrs trying to understand what I'm doing wring have no idea

Here's the deal. Your box has the latest HW software om it. Connect your box to pc then your ESC to box. TURN ESC ON. Go to software select the software then upload software to ESC.

Now you will be able to adjust with box without the pc.

You guys make it sound so simple but it doesn't work at all.

Like I have asked do I have to have the ESC plugged to my motor, lipo, power cap etc.
Cause I'm just trying to run it straight out the box with nothing connected?

As it doesnt say it in the manual or the video just shows everything laid out

Motor no, battery yes. I did it last night. Took me a few minutes too. The ESC needs power to be updated.

Trying to help, not trying to insult or seem prickish. Just letting u know.

Did you watch the video Solara posted? It's pretty step by step, but don't use the CD. Instead, install software from website to be sure you get the latest revision. Here's the link. The software you want to install is at the top of the page, it's the V1.36 software.
http://www.speedpassion.net/us/download.asp

When you upgrade the software on the program box, you do NOT connect the speedo. You install the software on PC, run it, then connect box ONLY to PC via USB. You'll see the word Device at top of software screen. Choose LCD Program Box. I should then show you what version of firmware you have on box (HW something) and give you a choice version for the latest SP firmware. Choose it and load it onto the box. Once that's done, you can then proceed to connect and program speedo. If it doesn't work, couple things come to mind:

1) What OS are you running? I've installed on computers with XP and Seven, no problems. I hear there are some quicrks with Vista. I think Solara may know how to fix. If you're rocking an Apple, I don't know who can help.
2) You got the LCD Program Box right, and not the LED Program Card? Because it won't work.

I am having the same problems as Carlin. There is no option in my USB/LCD/PC INTERFACE for the new SP software 1.37. I Just have the HW software choices like Carlin and my box is just saying connecting to PC. I did disconnect the usb and plug it back in. The box does now say Speedpassion version 1.07_11019. Is this the newest version for the box? When I plug in the speed control is this when I can update to 1.37? Sorry just came from Tekin system where you did not need to power ECS.

cjtamu 09-03-2011 09:58 AM

I can't ever remember whether it works better to run software first and then connect box, or connect box to PC then run software. I think it's the first one, but try it both ways if one doesn't work. When you got to device and click on LCD Program box, it should show you the HW version you have, and give you the option to load new SP software on the box. If that doesn't work I don't know, maybe HW changed their box? Like I said, your speedo should NOT be connected at this point. You only connect the speedo AFTER you've finished loading the SP software onto the program box.

My laptop has Vista....never had issues.

I just hooked up my SP LPF ESC and LCD Box for the first time ever today. I was confused for a bit, but got it working. I did have to hook up the ESC and the PC to the LCD box before my PC SP software would let me see mode0, mode1, and mode2. Now, at this point, I can hook the LCD up to the ESC and see all the details of Mode0, for example. I haven't figured out how to select among Mode 0, 1, and 2 with just the LCD and the ESC, without the PC.

I got is figured out. The software on the PC still shows HW but my box says all SP it show SP version v.30 110323stock once I connected the speedo control everything came together.

BobWoodhouse 09-03-2011 11:53 AM

Cool. How do you pick among modes (0, 1, and 2) without the PC connected. Mine shows the name of the last mode I programmed thru the PC for a moment, then goes right into the programming details. I would think there would be an item/value choice for the Mode.

cjtamu 09-03-2011 04:39 PM

Man, you guys are starting to confuse me. I just hooked up my LCD boc to see exactly what it says. When you load the SP software to PC, you should have a desktop icon that says "Speed Passion USB Link v1.36". I assume everyone's gotten that far. You run it, then connect your box, which says "connecting PC". Then click on "Device" in the software, and chose "LCD Box" from the drop down menu. It will then show you several things. One of them is your software. The most current version available I believe is V1.07_etc. If that isn't on your box, then it will show the software you have on it currently (v1.06 or whatever) and give you a choice version of the 1.07, which you choose, and it installs. As SP updates software, you may have to do this occasionally. Once the box is upgraded, you then connect speedo, click "ESC" in drop down menu from "Device", then you can load whatever firmware you want onto speedo.

The other thing it shows you when viewing the LCD box is your hardware version. In my case, it is HW310 V1.0. This will NOT change. Hardware is hardware, and it's HW hardware. I wonder if maybe this isn't what some of you are reading?

Bob, when you are at "Mode", you just press "Value", and it will take you to the next mode, keep pressing and it takes you back to the initial mode eventually. Same way you would change any other value. If you were at brakes and wanted to go to 50% instead of 25%, you just keep pressing "Value" until you get there. Mode is just a different profile. If you run Stock and Mod with the same car, you can have profiles for the different motors, or a practice mode with reverse, etc. You shouldn't have to hook up your PC everytime you want to change speedo settings, you can do it all with the box. One of the big advantages over the Hotwire IMO. You only need the PC to change the firmware on the speedo (to go from 323 Stock to 205 Mod, or 528, etc.).

Oh yeah. Just to avoid any confusion. When you change a value, you have to press "OK" on the box to save it to the speedo. Otherwise, the change won't be made.

When it is on Mode, it leaves the mode choice in a couple seconds at power up and never cycles it back in.

I did get the super stock software in there with all the new turbo stuff in it. and can change those values with the buttons no problem.
