From what I can tell comparing the Tekin 1900kv motor, mind you it is a Gen 1 to the Viper 1900kv motor I have, the Viper hits harder, definitely a bit more torque I am seeing. That doesn't mean the Tekin is a slouch or anything like that, plenty of power.
Cain- were you comparing a motor with a lot of runtime compared to a new motor? I know my viper 1900 feels a lot smoother to me than the tekin gen2 1900kv motor. They are the same at top speed, but I find the viper vf8's powerband more useful.

Ran my brand new Viper 4500kV motor last night in my Tekno SCT410 on a medium sized high bite track last night. I ran it directly following a Hobbywing 4000kv that I pulled out of my truck and gave to my son. The 4500 is very comparable to the Hobbywing. A little smoother on the bottom end and I thought it felt like it had a bit more on the top end. I was pulling wheelies getting onto the throttle on the straight. I never even got my temp gun out....the motor was barely warm after 5 minutes. For the price I just paid, this motor is an absolute no-brainer.

both motors used as I don't have a track local they don't get a lot of runtime on them, but the viper felt a bit more peppy which is why I dropped in the truggy and moved the tekin back to the buggy.

I have a couple of VTX10 BE's and love them, so now I am checking out some Viper motors. Question I have is this, does Viper design their own motors or are they rebranded and manufactured by someone else like so many other rc products are?

I have a VTX8 and I am getting a error code. Solid P light with alternating F and R lights. Can anyone help with that?

That's a motor error detection code. Could be a lot of things from what I read around hear. You'll have to do some trouble shooting. Known causes are bad connections causing arcs, bad solder joints, bad connections inside batteries, bad sensor board or sensor wire to start. Most seem to find a bad connection somewhere (bullet or battery connections)post your progress

Default Hi

Just bought a used VTX10... Can anyone advise me on the best motor combo for this esc. Thinking of running Boosted 13.5 for touring.

Thanks

13.5 would work well. FYI this esc can go to a 6.5 so anything in this range is good.

ok guys I have a problem.

I have a VTX8 and a Tekin T8 gen 1 2000kv. it will only operate if I roll the buggy or spin the motor by hand to get it moving. after it's moving it will stay moving. but once it stops it will not start back up.
I tried swapping out sensor wires with new ones and still does the same thing.
the esc doesn't have any error lights etc. all seems normal in that regard. when I give it throttle or brake it goes from green to red like normal. but the motor will not turn unless I physically get it moving first.
do you guys think this is a motor sensor or my Esc?

My bet would be the sensor board in the motor. Test a known working motor.
