I am pretty sure the vipers are filled with epoxy. So the likelihood would be slim. But if you jumped it off mount everest, it could be an issue.

Hi
I'm using a Copperhead ESC with a HW 4000kv 4 pole. I've measured with my GPS that there is no increase in speed when the timing on the ESC is increased. Are there compatibility issues between the Copperhead ESC, and HW motors? Every other programable item is able to be changed, except timing. I use the viper programming card to change all my parameters.

I have a 10R black edition that I just updated to the A64. The "problem" is that after I update (I get the "update completed" message), the next time I connect the esc to my pc and launch the software the update button is active again. It looks like the esc hasn't updated and is still running the old firmware. Is this normal?

I think not, because when I load profile #8, which should be "On road boost" according to the new firmware, I still see the old settings (practice, with reverse activated).

So, am I doing something wrong? Any help would be appreciated!

verify you are using the vtx10 "Black Edition" a64 firmware. Not the orange edition. And a video would do wonders

i did notice that my VTX10R-BE when connected also didn't state the profile, however when I checked it via the handle held programmer it was 64.

If you search Viper R/C on YouTue. There is a video that walks you through how to use the VLink- sorry not on my laptop so I can't post the link.

You do need to make sure that you have downloaded the version for your version if VTX- each unit had a slightly different protocol - but all delivers the same performance in the end.

When you plug your VTX into the VLink if an older software is on the unit it will automatically start to update. If you already have a64 on your unit and want to reset all the parameters. You have to initiate the download yourself.

Not any that have ever been noted before. Maybe that is as fast as the motor goes? I have read stories that GPS isn't always the most accurate way to record speed on an r/c car. Setting will make a small effect. Gearing would be bigger. Motor and battery performance would be bigger. Boosted settings through a sensored unit would have a larger effect than they will on a Sensorless unit as well.

No worries...I'll just gear up a little. Thanks for the reply.

Ok guys had a issue with my trusty vtx10 yesterday. It's a year and a half old now and has been great. Issue is its seems like it's studers when I give it throttle. Tried a new sensor wire. Changed motors cause that is what I thought the problem was, but it does the same thing. Also recalibrated the radio and esc but the problem is still there

hey guys i am running a vtx10r with 6.5t motor in a Caster S10B buggy on a 120 x90 outdoor track. The buggy is the heavier of 4wd buggys and was just wondering what a good starting gearing would be and if i need fan on esc

I was running 19t pinion in a Xray XB4. When you use boost and timing, I would buy a fan... Mine became about 150 degrees F. The one of my friend almost 200 without fan ! Just to make sure...

Than is the only thing I can think of a bad sensorboard in the esc itself...
