Cool. Looking forward to hearing first hand reports.
For the new VF8 motors, if you were going to run one in a light truggy setup (say 4S 5000mah packs), which of these would you recommend? |

Cain, we had a couple drivers testing with the 1900 in truggy on 4s and running very happy with it.
I did do some testing of my daughters new VTX8 ESC just for setting it up purposes, worked like a charm. Even tested that male to male adapter for those 5mm batteries with the passthrough and it worked great too. I still get a kick out of how beefy these feel. really something. |
Beefy FTW? lol

VF8 2100 In The House!
1 Attachment(s)
My new VF8 2100 arrived yesterday, and I just mounted it up in the Losi 8ight-E 3.0! I use the 45 tooth spur instead of the stock 43, and was running 14/45 with the Tekin 1900. Switching up to 15/45 with Orion Carbon 4 cell power.
The JConcepts Indoor Nationals are in town this weekend, but they aren't running 1/8 scale at the HobbyPLEX, so I'll have to wait until next weekend to see how it runs. Of course, I could just take it out for a practice run before tomorrow nights club race. Alex of HobbyPLEX has built an AWESOME dedicated offroad track for the JConcepts race, but it's all 10th scale sized jumps. I thought my 8ight-E 3.0 was pretty clean...but it sure looks dirty in the pic! Robert Conner Omaha, Nebraska |
Anyone put a VF8 in an Sworkz BE-1 yet? It's RIGHT on the edge of maximum length and $150 is a lot to drop on a potential paperweight haha!

Have you seen....tell your friends...... There are some awesome deals out there for Viper stuff for the holidays. I mean stuff that is $40-$45 (or more) less than our competitors prices on combos. One retailer is almost giving the stuff away (its insane). 2 weeks to Xmas -- don't for get to buy a present for your favorite car or truck!!!!!

Grabbed the box from Viper out of the mailbox on the way to the track for some mid-week club racing with my son. Running late, I soldered the last wire on the VF8 1900 in Cole's car right as the first qualifier of ebuggy was running warm up laps. He ran a couple laps and went on to win that qualifier, TQ, and win the main.:D:nod::D:nod: We are very pleased with the smooth power of the motor. Geared with a 16t pinion in the RC8.2e, the motor ran very cool on our medium size, technical indoor track. Lots more potential in this black beauty! Thanks, Viper, for another great power plant! |

So... How is that 4-pole short course motor coming along? My VTX8 and 4300 HD go together like an outfit my 11 yr old put together for school. :)

Hello everyone. Let me introduce myself. My name is Ray and I have recently jumped on board with Viper for the 2014 season.
Lots of great info in this thread...with lots of helpful people! Looking forward to learning from all of you and trying to help when I can. I run just about everything 1/10 scale related. So 22sct and 22 2.0 for now and the 22-4 when it gets released. This summer I may even try my hand with the 8ight 3.0-E. If I can be of help please feel free to PM me at any time. Waiting for the ink to dry on the contract then I'll be ordering my Viper equipment. Looking forward to a great year! |

Nick is there any sort of epoxy holding the top of a vtx8 on? I want to send the orange part in to get anodized black.
