I put in an order for 2 VTX8s and had a couple of questions. How can I find out when they will ship out and when adding caps 25V 1800uF for 4-6s and 16v 1000uF units, are there any precautions I should take?

booster- not sure why you are adding caps? None are required for the VTX8.

twisted- yes they are loud on start up compared to a sensored motor. But if it's loud and not accelerating that could be an issue. If you want you can send it to us for evaluation. Just fill out an RMA form on our website.

mulepic- glad you like it!!!

its still fast, just sounds a lot different then any other motor ive ever ran.

I was under the impression they should help with power management and smooth out the delivery regardless of what ESC you are using. Call it precautionary or efficiency, it shouldn't harm anything, only help.

I guess, just be careful how you wire it up -- never tried it before. Never needed it -- smoother and more powerful than anything out there.

Side note - the more research and testing we do, the more we find out that other mfg's don't always use the sensor system in larger scale esc's. Our system will be smooth all the time - by design, stronger, smoother.

What were those top guys running that put them 5 seconds a lap faster?

Check out the video of Colin Branch taking home A1 at the Top Gear Hobbies Spring Shootout. Colin would finish 2nd overall....

You can use profile 1 but make sure you change the motor pole setting to 2 pole (I believe that is a 2 pole motor- might want to check with Tekin) and adjust battery cut off because of the 3s.

Hey Nick,
Since it is a 4 pole motor, would I still use profile number 1?

Hello all i just got the VX4 combo with the R45 to go in my SCTE, before i hook this up i noticed there is no A B C on the ESC or motor so does this hook connect like most esc ABC left to right and motor ABC left to right. Thanks

DustinH 05-23-2013 09:38 AM

Just hook up the wires and if it runs backwards swap two wires.

ridgerunner1 05-23-2013 09:54 AM

the outer two and would changing in esc do the same thing as changing wires just checking

DustinH 05-23-2013 09:57 AM

It doesn't matter which two. I can't say for certain about changing motor direction in esc. I would believe it would be the same.
