One thing I need to know is the amp draw of the 3900kv Copperhead 540 system.
I know my 25c duratrax lipos might be good enough for the job.
Im not looking for all out speed is why i chose this system.
Im picking up the system on monday and need to know if I should solder
a deans end on the esc to battery side, because I plan on leaving the bullet connectors on the motor connections. If it comes prewired with the deans connector im all set. Amain has a picture of it with the deans end on the esc.
Also what profiles would be good to use, I plan on locking out reverse because
our track doesnt allow reverse and it would be good to lock it out.
Thanks for the help!

Matt- trying to get the boss to bring some back from the factory, check with me in a few weeks to see if he did it.

metalnut- would really depend on what motor you were planning to run or planned to run in the future. The R series esc's will let you go to a lower turn motor. Not running that low, the VTX10's will do it. PM me if you have more specific questions.

E-Racer- Deans come pre-attached on Copperhead system. So younare set. Profile 5 is the race profile with reverse locked out. And of course if you get the ProGauge you can adjust anything you like to fine tune it to your style and track conditions.

Mad Max- its fast!! We recently attended the big Motorama race in PA and they ran SC4wd on the 1/8 track. I lent a 5150 system to friend to run in his Losi and it was too fast for the track. We had to turn down the power band for him to control it.

OK that's great thank you! I will be getting the pro gauge when I get the 550 4500kv Copperhead system for my Associated SC10 4wd.

Are we crazy? Did you guys see this..... The boss is nuts.... Go check out the Shop site or our major partners for a crazy deal on the best 4 pole system money can buy!! :sneaky::cool:

Wildcat1971 03-01-2013 12:19 PM

That is a pretty good deal on the 4 pole stuff.

Ok, so i picked up another vtx10. It had the a30 firmware on it. I could not get it to calibrate. When it got to the part where it is supposed to finish, a singe green light blinked and made a beeping noise with each blink. I recalibrated my a55 vtx10 2-3 times just fine, but the vtx10 with the a30 refused to calibrate to my Airtronics radio. What was the single blinking green light with the constant beep?

nikos2002 03-01-2013 07:48 PM

It can not find the neutral on the radio. Put 2-3 clicks of trim on the throttle and try again. Or rebind the receiver and radio.

As for the a30, you can purchase the PC Link cable and update to a55 via the VLink on the website, or you can send the esc to us and we will do it for you. If you bought it brand new PM with who you got it from, we have to update their inventory, its was a long, long time ago that we went to a55

RavensNightFury 03-01-2013 08:02 PM

hey niko is viper going to put a current limted in the solft ware like tekin does

nikos2002 03-01-2013 08:06 PM

Been there all along --- we call it Punch. Plus we have a smoother power band!! :sneaky::sneaky::cool:

PS- you don't need a computer to adjust it!! :tire::tire::tire:

Thx, I updated to the a55 firmware it it seems good now. Good to know about the green light if it happens again. I have started to convert locals to the viper esc's, muhaaaaa. The vtx10's are really very good and with the progauge and 1 year warranty, you really cant beat it. I can actually get tekins very cheap new. Around 100, but I still buy the vipers, that hotwire is a joke. I am sorry, but in todays esc market you need a digital programmer. No one wants to count blinking lights. At least I dont, lol. I kinda wish the esc was made in the US, but I will accept that it is a US company. And maybe I like taiwan better than china, lol.

RavensNightFury 03-01-2013 08:33 PM

well can it limted how long you can run for like if right setting and right setup up you can get 21 mins out of a 7200 2s lipo

plumbcrazy 03-01-2013 11:10 PM

What is the motor limit on the vtx1? I am needing a couple systems. One for my b4.1, usually I run an 8.5 in it. I also need one for my b44.2, running a 6.5 but would like the option on both to go lower turns. I'm not sure which systems to go with. I would like the same one for both. Space is and issue on both cars. The more low profile the better. Thanks in advance
