Nick on your motors which one would you recommend to use in the losi scte due to weight of car.

What motor and vehicle?

OMG23RC 02-23-2013 05:46 AM

Schuur speed 17.5 in an rb5 sp2 wc. Track is 32/35 seconds a lap outdoor medium grip

DustinH 02-23-2013 05:50 AM

Do you run blinky or boosted?

FrankMueller 02-23-2013 05:59 AM

Hi everybody.I owe two viper systems. Just ordert a third one.Question is it true that most other brands have higher kv ratings when you compair same turn motors. That would make viper motors spin a whole lot less rpms right.just trying to figure out what motor to buy.Thx

DustinH 02-23-2013 06:04 AM

Our motors are torque based.

Ok.But does a viper 8.5 turns less than a tek.. 4000 kv versus 5300. So would really need a 7.5 or 6.5 right.

DustinH 02-23-2013 06:16 AM

You can gear a Viper higher or get a lower turn motor.

Thx just wanted to make shure I'm doing the right thing. BTW love the viper stuff. No problems at all with my first two systems. Now getting Schumi K1 will install 10R with 7.5 Turn.
And waiting for 1/8 scale motor to come out for mbx 6 for the outdoorseason.

Kevin- with the scte - VST 4.5XL, fast with a smooth power band, it's what the TLR designers used before Horizon changed the rules.

OMG- throttle freq 5k-9600 depending on the feel you like. Punch and power 100

Frank - the thing about kv ratings is what voltage you record the ratings at. Higher the voltage the higher the rating. There is no standard. Some measure at unrealistic voltages or admit to a 'misprint' in their catalog. Our current motors are more torque based and need more gear to get the rpm. Make sure timing is turned up as well.

Thx Niko . Any news about 1/8 scale motors?? Seen u all testing at motorama.

nikos2002 02-23-2013 07:51 AM

Still working in them. We literally got them Thursday afternoon before the race so it wasnt ideal to test at Motorama, so we will know more in the coming weeks. First impressions were good. In fact all the different test programs going on at Motorama had positive results. More info to come...... :sneaky:

nikos2002 02-23-2013 08:06 AM

In fact we were quite happy with Motorama results. We had customers or team drivers in 6 of 8 classes on the 1/10 track and 2 of 6 on the 1/8 track and we would have had more if they did fastest time qualifying. Every speed control we sell was used at the event including VTX8 and Copperhead. All motor lines were represented including some samples of the next generation. So it was really great event. We only had 2 motor failures one was DOA out of the box (it happens) the other was a sample motor we had run a lot (I mean a lot!), so we were hoping it would finish one more race but it didn't. Which was pretty good considering some of the equipment we saw up in smoke. On both tracks.

All and all a great event, more people saw our products and saw our dedication to helping racers.
