I may just try a bigger rotor for "testing" purposes as I feel more torque is what is needed to clear that pesky triple lol!
I know others were running option rotors at this race and I feel that is the difference. I am just curious how it will effect top speed and gearing.

C - when you change rotors you are changing the characteristics of the motor. So you have to change gearing accordingly. My guess would be they put the torque rotor in and geared up. Our motors are already designed on the torque side, so same principles apply. I have used RPM rotors on-road and felt a performance gain. I know several of the team drivers like the torque rotors in the modified classes -- on the bigger tracks out west.
Its another option -- we are all about the options!!! Something to test for yourself to see if it suits your style and track.

OMG - I ran that combination when I first started with Viper in my TQ 4wd and liked it a lot. I had no issues. Fast and competitive (too fast sometimes - yes, I am getting old). In Australia though -- might want to make sure you have body holes cut to get some fresh air in there!! Just to be safe.

Just after some help, am new to electric buggys after running nitro for the last while.
I am after a 6.5t setup for my soon to arrive Cat K1.
Could someone tell me the main difference between these two here

From what I can see, the difference is that one of them can handle down to a 3.5t motor, where as the other is 6.5t lowest. Does this mean the esc would be more on the edge of its performance running the 6.5t on the cheaper VTX10 esc.
Am I going to benefit spening the extra 40 to get the R spec esc?
Thanks
Paul

HOLY CRAP. What did you guys change in a55? After 45 minutes of trying to save the setting to my esc... no mater what I did pc link or proguage, it kept reverting to profile 8 and would never save my profile 3 change. I eventually got the setting to work with the pc link. hopefully once i send the cable back to grasshoper it does not freak out again. Anyway, I loaded the a55 #3 profile and omfg, where did all the horse power come from? I looked at all of the setting and nothing really stood out as special. I used the software KV estimator for the boost start and stop rpm 5500 and 19k for my 3000kv motor. After calibrating it 5 times....... I fulled the trigger all the way back thinking it would be the same as before. The tires almost blew off the rim. WTF. Do I need to lower a setting? Seems way too powerful. All i did to the profile 3 was add 10% drag, disable dynamic braking. and set the start and stop rpm based on your KV estimator.
