I have to say though that these warranties are EXCELLENT, and if the motor one is now 365, that's icing on the cake. I always believed that if you make the best products you should be able to back them up with the best kind of warranties.

To be clear, the motor warranty still stands at 180 day and the electronics warranty is still 365 day. The motor warranty is only shorter due to physical moving parts :tire:

How much will the systems be? With the Vtrax10 will it be like 220 or what?

Yes that's about where I expect the VST/Vtrax10 combo to be. The VST/Vtrax10R combo should be around $260. When we have more exact pricing information everyone will be informed right away!

As a side question, and please forgive me if this has been asked already, but for the 1/8 electric stuff, will there be a separate ESC you guys are doing or will the ones listed on the website be what is used for 1/8 electric too?

For the ESCs listed on the website, what are the specs are far as limitings for lipo usage, BEC rating, etc?

I think this was already answered but yes we are working on a 1/8 esc as well, the Vtrax8. Like all our esc's, it will be incredibly durable and waterproof!

The Vtrax10 and 10R have an adjustable BEC output voltage of 5-7v in 0.1v increments. I'm uncertain of the BEC current rating, if you're interested in that too, I believe it's about 5amps constant. When there are official esc specs available everyone will be well aware. Here are some other specs I can give you right now to tide you over:

Vtrax10 motor limit - 5.5t (non boost) on 2s lipo/7.4v
Vtrax10R motor limit - no motor limit 2s lipo/7.4v
2-4s lipo (7.4-14.8v)

If you have questions about any specific details let me know and I'd be happy to give you the best answers possible right now :D

One of our main concepts as a company is to work with and support our customers. We will honor the warranty internationally, there will just be additional shipping expenses (due to the additional shipping expenses of mailing international  ). We haven't discussed a trade in policy or anything for motors that no longer fall under factory warranty because the motors haven't even been out 6 months, but like I said our main focus is to work with our customers and so we will figure that situation out when it arises :) The motors are fully rebuildable so I think we have good options.

Just got my 13.5 in the mail on Sat. Looks real nice. Can't wait to run it. It will be in a xxx buggy. Unfortunately since the Vtrax isn't out yet, I had to pair it with a Tekin RS for now. I prefer to keep them the same company usually. I'm fairly certain no one at my local track has one of these yet, I like being an early adopter of good products. From what I've been reading, I can't wait to blow them away  I'm sure there will be lots of questions, depending how I do of course ;)

Sohlman113 02-06-2011 07:59 AM

SloRacer you will love the 13.5. I have been running mine in my TQ SX10 Buggy for almost a month now and it is super smooth. I have the timing on the endbell set at 45 degrees and the motor is still super cool. I race at Long Island Raceway every Friday if you have any questions about it feel free to shoot me a PM or since you run at the Barn come on down on a Friday I think a couple of guys from there have been making the trip.

for 550 SCT use, will both ESCs work fine?
Thanks for all the info guys!

What motor setup do you recommend for a 4x4 sc? I'll be running the new ae 4x4 once it arrives.

Jamie James 02-06-2011 11:37 AM

What motor would you guys recommend for these tracks? I was going to go with something in the 8.5 range in my 4wd and a 13.5 in my SC for the outdoor track, and a 10.5 for my 4wd for the indoor track.

After reading all the posts I am thinking a 17.5 for my SC and a 10.5 for my 4wd should be enough. It that right?

The layout of the outdoor changes, it's not always that flat.

Now the indoor will prob be doubling in size next year.

I will be placing my order ASAP.

stick with your first choices! the guys running 17.5's in mod class are getting out motored in the infield i have tried running a 17.5 in a 13.5 2wd class and thats what happened they were able to power through the infield and i didn't have the motor to keep up their

Jamie James 02-06-2011 01:45 PM

ok. Kind of thought so. I just keep hearing about the guys running the 17.5 in mod and doing well.

nikos2002 02-06-2011 02:43 PM

You should be Ok with a 10.5 in 4wd. Really depends on the length if the straight if you feel you need more top end. But with todays esc's you can make a 10.5 awful fast.

yes you can, up until a week ago i know a guy running a 13.5 in a 4wd boosting it and keeping up with guys running 7.5s! so i have a faith a 10.5 would Work well!

One local racer did well running a 17.5 because he drove perfectly. He wasn't the fastest, he was the smoothest. I'm sure with some gearing and some timing a 17.5 can keep up just fine, it will be only be on a long straight that you may get passed.

Gearhead racer 02-06-2011 03:18 PM

now on the 7.5 and 8.5 what battery size should i run if i have the 10r esc with it? note 4x4 use.
