I am just trying to explain an issue that has recently come to our attention reguarding some 4s concerns. This is direct from the viper office.

track report

ok i just came back from the track , i started out with a 18/82 in my scr which is a 11.8fdr with my vtxr and vst 8.5 in profile 2. it felt good, lots of punch, smooth acceleration but didnt have the top end speed i was looking for for our straightaway, went to a 19/82 which is a 11.2 fdr and it felt great, still had the punch and it gave me that little extra i was looking for on the straight. Im not a pro but id reccomend this setup for anyone running sc with a 8.5 on a larger track with a decent sized straight:batman:

yeah you can pull at least a 21t and who knows the car might run cooler because you wont be over reving that long straight.

OK, I'm a bit late to this party, but...

I just now installed a viper 13.5 in my XXX-SCT, geared it up a pinion, to 26/78, bombed up and down the street for about ten minutes of flat out full throttle 350-400ft speed runs, and both esc (tekin rs pro) and the motor were sitting pretty at 125. No timing or boost on the esc, just the stock 30 on the can.

That gearing has ratcheted up every other motor I've tried it with to about 150 in as much time, some even less time. Also, this thing is super ninja stealth smooth. Insane.

I see Viper released an 8th motor... but when will they support it with an ESC?

chadsrt 06-18-2011 03:48 PM

Is there a release date set for the 550's yet. Got mine on pre order.
