Maybe you should tell this to Phil. I asked him about this and he wrote, why do you want changing delta peak after charge has began?
So I keep the old ROM version as it does everything I want. Just canīt use the new Windows program what is the reason I wanted to upgrade.

But itīs now you can do this just before the charging process is started.
After charging is started you canīt change the delta peak setting anymore.
Thatīs what Phil told me. But as I donīt like this I maybe will stay with the older software/ROM.

Remember its got a back up battery, so you wont have to set it each individual charge now

Yes I know but this is with the older ROM also. But sometimes you have to change delta voltage in between maybe just temporarely for preventing shutting off if you have to go down on the charge current.

Hi all,

the reason for locking the delta after the start of charge is for safety reasons. If you lower the current during charge the input voltage will go down therefore giving a false peak. To overcome this you would need to change the delta a great deal which could therefore allow the cell to overcharge causing a dangerous situation.

Hi All,

I have been speaking with Phil about this issue. He is not going to allow the Delta to be changed during charge however there will be a fix for the issue of false peak when changing down in current. Phil has changed the software to reset the peak voltage after the change in current. This modification will be available on the next version of the software which I think will be 10.80.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks JC, not having that 2nd unit cost me a good race a couple of weeks ago.

smoking,

the only thing about part charge is that you need to now your cells are dead before you start or you risk over charging but I don't see why not. Sometime I will just use a regular charge but you need to have a good input voltage (nearer 14v) or it is not enough to charge 8 cells. I got a 12.5 on Oslo with an 1/8 scale serpent car, just missed out on 24 laps on the daily challenge. You have to be smooth and don't drive too aggressively.

I'm about to build me a serial cable this weekend and do some battery testing.

Anybody still have a copy of the old terminal.exe program? I can't find it at pro-trak's site anymore. I'm wondering whether the new programs by Kiyano will work with an older Pro-track. My non-upgraded unit looks like the one in the picture below. It does not have the mulit-phase charging. I keep forgetting to take not of the exact version number.

Send Phil an email and I am sure he will either send it to you or let you know where it is available.
If I remember - I'll ask him tonight - we're all going out for a beer or 3
