Setting in the calibration table 42 to 1 can increase the charge current to 15A. But for this you need to check the following
1. The lifetime of the charge FET will be shorter than at 12A
2. The 20A version of PRO-TRAK has poor heat sink cooling capability. So you may need external fan cooling
3. When PRO-TRAK is shipped, it is adjusted for 12A charge current. Even if Software allows charging current up to 15A, the current may not actually increase up to 15A. In that case, it is necessary to readjust PRO-TRAK

It looks like i will have to buy a changer that can do 25 amps for stock racing....

Hi I am looking for details on how to make the serial coms cable for this charger, also the pc monitoring software for a version 10.83
is this information still available anywhere??
I know its old tech by I'm a ex-vintage racer that still like to fiddle with these vintage things!
Many Thanks

Well. This is a heck of a thread revival. Nearly 20 years since the topic I am interested in was discussed on here! Thanks for staying open RcTech!
im looking for a late model ICS board that plugs into the BMS instead of having to use standalone ICS board and monitor cables.
thought it was worth a post here to see if anyone could help… the Pro Trak is still a great charger.
im actually in UK, home of the pro trak, but the company is long since closed
i have a unit which was repaired and upgraded in 2009 at pro trak, and runs v12.20
I have an invoice for the repair and upgrade cost, a few bits of original literature etc, a pretty cool piece of history
an even better piece of equipment for diagnosing and improving NIMH packs!
hope to get some replies
thanks
