Cannot update 2in1 LCD program box

I have a Xtreme Stock ESC and a Turnigy 2in1 LCD program box that I have used before with a Turnigy EZRun ESC. As long as I have the 2in1 connected to a PC via USB I can use the Hobbywing USB link software to update the Xtreme Stock ESC and change the settings. If I try and use the 2in1 without the USB connection, I get a message on the LCD screen to update the software. I have tried using in standalone mode using power from the ESC BEC and external power. I cannot update the software in the 2in1 program box using the Hobbywing USB link program. I run the USB Link software as administrator. I have tried with Vista and Windows 7 and tried using XP compatibility mode. I have tried all previous versions of the USB link software that I could get hold of back to V1.3. I have used the Turnigy USB Link software and could update the 2in1 program box to the latest Turnigy firmware. Does anyone have any suggestions? Should I buy a Hobbywing 2in1 program box and dedicate it to Hobbywing ESCs only?

I think you need a hobbywing 2 in 1 box if you can not upgrade your existing 2 in 1 box with the HOBBYWING 1.63 application.

LOOKS LIKE MORE

Looks like there might be more !!

This brings up past dealings with customers coming into store with problem HW ESC's purchased in eBay....come to thing most had the same problems mentioned here and from memory the switches looked the same as presented by Angelo....and mentioned by Cannon.

Counterfeit breeds like a Virus. Not good for all and destroys a good name.

That is very bad ... Hope things get sorted out soon ... cos' i am sure you have legitimate HK customers who may lose out on their warranty ... or even unknowing 'HW' customers who bought 'labelled' HW products from ebay ...

And they are linked to an online store hobbyhot.com

Frustrating to see that the website seems to have a mix of genuine and fake Hobbywing products

COBRARACING 04-26-2011 04:55 PM

Hi Guys

Just a small Good friday gift .

The new 120 amp esc from hobbywing will look like the image below .it will have a new programming port ,built in switch and the ,leds will be shown from the top of the esc not the bottom like previous versions.

We will also have a bluetooth external module the size of a small fail safe unit which you will be able to place anywhere in the car for programming through your lcd programmer ,iphone and android systems .

The reason why we cannot have the bluetooth built in to the esc is because of its size and the noise/distortion factor which will interrupt the connection. For the 1/8th escs which are large in size the bluetooth will be built in .

thank you

regards Angelo

Definitely a step in the right direction.

I have 4 HW ESCs.

Is the bluetooth module and bluetooth enabled 2-in-1 box backward compatible with the 'older' HW ESCs?
