Keyence Exstraight

The ExStraight is super simple:

1. Turn it on
2. Push and hold the setup button until the LED start blinking
3. Keep you finger off the trigger and push the Set button once to set neutral
4. Pull full throttle and hold it then push the Set button to set high throttle
5. Push full brake and hold it then push the Set button to set max brake

There is a current limiter dial that should always be maxed out so it dose not limit the current.

There is a Min Brake dial that sets how much initial braking you get. I leave this at zero.

Is it necessary to use the schottky diode supplied with the Keyence Exstraight? What about the 3 capacitors if the motor already has surface mount caps (I use a 2x13 team orion revolution). Thanks.

You should run the Schottky Diode or a Novak, KO or Much More Super Schottky device on the ExStraight.

If your motor has caps on it or if you use smaller caps you dont have to use the "Corn Kernel" :D caps Keyence sends with the unit.

Hello AdrianM,
Can you tell me the differences between Straight and Flash ESC's?
The flash kinda looks like a update of my A-07.
Thanks, Terry

The Exstraight is a Rapida with all the programming bits stripped off. Think of it as an LRP V6 but about 1/3rd the size.

The Flash is a is an updated A-07R.

Keyence A07-R

Anybody knows if the A07-R would work with 4 cells?

Adrian, I have a Keyence that needs repair. Who do I send it to?

Besure to include you contract information in the box.

Thanks,

AdrianM

Thanks. No contract info, I'm going to have to pay for the repairs...

Adrian,
For oval applications (stock and 19T) most really dont mess with settings too much. Set it at low Drive Frequency and go. Does the Exstraight have the same Fets and on resistance (0.00023) as a Rapida Pro?

If so then the Exstraight might be a nice cheaper alternative for Oval racers.

I bought a keyence dont know which one is it ,, zero extreme or rapida .. but I dont know how to set it up .. all it does it when i push brake on my 3pk it like throttle and when I pull on the trigger it brakes .. its backwards.. can anyone help me on how to setup this esc

theisgroup 07-10-2006 07:57 PM

press the setup button once. that will get you to the setup mode. then press and hold setup for 4 seconds. you will now be setting neutral. then hit the right arrow, that will be forward and then hit the right again and that is brake. hit right again and you are back to setup.

your transmitter should now be set.

Reverse the throttle contol on the transmitter before u try setting up the ESC again. The servo reversing needs to be corrected.

Cheers

Could have a faulty set button. I have a similiar issue, I cannot get my Rapida Pro to go into the set menu either.
