Adrian: We'll probably give that a try. My dad's begining to think this is why the guy sold him the ESC |
Thanks Diesel for the reply! Last question whats the main diff between the Rapida and Rapida-C? Also... If I get the regular Rapida, are there any major differences between that and the pro version? I am mainly a club racer stock.

I've seen it happen more than once!!!!!!!!! |
The "C" just has tubes soldered to the contacts on the end of the case so you can use bullet connectors. We don't carry the "C" in the US.
The Rapida Pro has some additional features over the regular Rapida. The Pro has 4 memory slots to save you programs, a current limiter and a timer function plus 4 additional FETs for lower on resistance. We sold tons of Zero V Extremes and very few Zero V's so when the Rapida Pro came out we decided to only carry the Rapida Pro model. |
whats the current limiter? Also, being that the description says that the rapida escs have the lowest resistance, even though I dont get the Rapida Pro, will the Rapida have lower resistance compared to the other esc's today like the gtx, qc2?

The current limiter...uh...limits current delivered to the motor to reduce punch on low grip surfaces or in classes with limited traction (Mod 1/12th, Mod 2wd buggy, etc.) The key feature that makes the Rapida Pro better is the ability to create up to 4 settings, save them and recall them instantly at the track side. That and the lower on resistance over the standard Rapida is worth the price of admission. |
about how much more is the rapida pro from the original version?
|
The price difference is ~$20.

Any suggestions for.....
some settings on the Rapida pro when running 1/12th with a 540 stock (silver can)?
Just wondering if I should go for stock settings like I do with my TC or 1/12th settings as suggested in the back of the manual. |

If you tell me you are running 4 cells  I'm going to suggest you take up knitting...its more action packed  ! You will need to set up your speed as aggressive as possible. In the Set Mode: Nutr: 5p Min Drive: 10p Min Brake: 0p or Whatever you want, you'll never use them Neutral brake: 0P Ebr: Off ENSA: 100 In the Freq Mode: Drive Freq: Really low...like 0.1 to 1.0 This is to get more punch Brake Freq: Whatever you want, you'll never use them Neutral Brake: Whatever you want, you'll never use them No other settings really affect power so thats it. Let me know how it goes! |
What can I say other than.....

Let me know how it goes! Thanks for the info. From the people I've chatted to (so far) it's generally agreed that if I gear it something like 38/100 it should at least be faster than a pro-stock here in NZ. Which was what I was after speed wise (and well suited to my local track layout). That and with only 9 bearings to clean I don't see a down side lol. I'll stick a 19 turn in it at some stage I'm sure but right now pro-stock speed would be fast enough. |
sorry this maybe a stupid question but. If i were to get the Rapida (Not Pro) does it still have lower resitance than the top leading escs? Is ohm the same as fet?

Novak GTB in brushed mode, Tekin G11, Rapida Pro, Novak GTX. Not sure where the KO fits into that lot, couldn't find voltage drop specs for it. |
so the Rapida Pro dosnt have the lowst res fet?
