Has anyone run that Novak Schotty motor module thing? If so, where did you attach it. I'm thinking of trying one but there's no way I'm having another set of full size wires coming off my motor. If I can just attach that to the speedo, that would be most convienient.

I don't have a Keyence speedo, but I do run the Novak Schottky on my Cyclone. When I bought it the diode (which is on a small 4 layer board) was connected to 14 gauge wires. I don't like smaller wire so I removed the diode (board) and soldered it inline about 1 inch from my motor. Now I can do any motor maintenance without having to do any diode soldering.

I am a racer and a very direct individual. I want to win when I race. If I thought there were a better speed control on earth it would be in my car and I would not be posting here.

I am a HUGE Tekin fan. I have 2 BC112A's (that I use every weekend) and I used to run G12C3's in all my cars. However, the G10, as far ahead of everyone else it was when it was new, is still 8 year old technology today. Can you win a race with a G10 sure! Just like you can win a race with a Novak Tempest or an LRP V6.

The Keyence is still smaller, lighter, just as tough and has tons more features that racers can actually use and feel on the track.

I agree with you.

It would be a minimal increase as you are spending a very small amount of time charging, even if it is at high rates.

But the question is..... DOES IT EVEN MATTER?

Before my zero x 2002 I had about 1300-1400mAh left in my packs after a race. After I got the keyence it went up to +1800mAh after each race.

I think this EnSa function should be illegal as all us keyence users already have an unfair advantage!!!

Very logical thinking.. and I'm tending to believe no one have not yet able to conform its advatage. I gues it make us more confidence just by knowing that we have it.

Went up by +300mah, do you meant that the V0 Ex 2002 also has Ensa feature? I used one before but not really pay attention about the Ensa.

When you guys are burning up on the track I'll be screaming past with my "big" G-12cIII (with 12 cells and a 10 turn). Try that with your micro crap!
The new "latest" (which have yet to be released) will prove to be the greatest and micro sized. Technology has moved on a way since the earlier micro ESC designs. Just like PC's they are forever gettin smaller and more powerful.

I heard good thing about this ESC, but lame customer support. The worst customer service probably LRP..... I think I'm done with LRP and move to next level.

Keyence ESC...... hhmmmm, something nice for christmas   Do you know how much for Rapida Pro ?

NismoSkyline17 09-24-2004 05:42 AM

Schumacher's customer support is great.

This would have to bee the best speedo I have ever used hands down. The best feature is being able to adjust brake frequency. The higher it is, the sooner the brakes fade as you slow down, making it easier to brake just right everytime.

How can this be a reason for a blown up esc???

I have Ko Propo's diode (http://www.kopropo.com/super_shotki_diode.gif) what should I put at ENSA?

I have ordered the Rapida and very anxious to use it! :)

Any setup for 12T modified will be very appreciated! ;)
I like smooth driving (prefer 12x2 than 12x1)

I totally agree with everyone that said about the new small escs! (I'm fan of GM V12 series)

just want to give prop to Keyence and adrian. I had a problem with my v extreme and sent it in on monday of this week. Yesterday Adrian emailed me to tell me he got the speedo and will be sending the replacement out today. Can;t ask for better service then that. They follow up with you and let you know the status. I had to do the same with other manufactures and i woudl have to call them weeks later just to find out that they are working on it. Adrian even warned me last month that with the storms, it may take them a little longer to take care of me. So I decided to wait till the storm had passed :)

I will never change speedo and even thinking about changing to shumacher from xray

AdrianM 09-24-2004 06:23 AM

You could blow up a speedo if your comm is so small that the copper peels off, shorts out the end bell and you don't get off the throttle until smoke starts pouring out from under your body...lol!

theisgroup - Thanks for the kind words...give me call today when you can (813-889-9691).

nnick - I posted a setup on this thread maybe a page ot two back. Use the Mod setup and change the drive frequency to get the feel you like.

nnick 09-24-2004 06:25 AM

I have seen that, already copied, but because it was for 10T I thought maybe there was/should be any difference for 12T

I wanted to get a Ko Propo Keyence V Extreme for awhile now, but what is the difference between that and the VFS and the other models. Sorry if question has been asked already. I dont want to run my LRP Q2 anymore. I also want to get the KO Propo servos too. But i can wait on that, but i really want to get a KO ESC.

The Rapida Pro is the top of the line

2. How do the specs compare to LRP Q2 and the ko-propo high-end speedos?

They have half the on resistance of the speedos you mentioned.

Long Answer:

The Rapidas have more individual adjustments. The LRP and KO have diffrent settings for punch and drive frq but you don't have the fine hands on adjustability of the Keyence. You can change drive frq in 100Hz increments from 100-20,000Hz. You can change minimum drive, minimun break, neutral brake and dead band are adjustable in 1% increments. You have 4 memory slots to save setups in. For example this lets you set up 4 diffrent drive frqs which you can switch track side in seconds for back to back lap time testing.

Short Answer:

It does a lot more than the LRP's and KO's.

3. What colors is the Rapida available in?

We can get them in a smoked black case or a blue see through case. However, we only stock the blue ones.
