Thanks...how much faster compared to stock 12T titan motor?

We didn't get a chance to clock the speed of the 12T Titan motor. If I had to put it into a MPH number, I would think somewhere are round 8-10MPH slower than the 8.5T... so around 25-27MPH? I really don't think that you are going to be disapointed with the 8.5T motor, it really is a great balance for the car. Just don't expect to be going 50MPH (well maybe on a 3S LiPo)

Thanks, I really like your point of view about great balance for the car...that's what I need at this moment.

I'm joining a 2wd buggy race league that allows any brushless esc as long as you use a sensored motor. Would the 35a or 60a version be better for 13.5t motor? Using nimh batts currently, but may switch to lipo.

Both 35a and 60a version is a sensorless esc. So you wont be able to use a sensored motor with it.

For a sensored ESC, you need to look into the 120A version.

Both the 35 and 60A esc's will run a sensored motor. I run a 6.5 novak with a 60A hobbywing esc. It works ok but it does cog a fair bit. Cogging is jerking at low speed. it only has an effect when taking off and you dont notice it after you start off. It is supposed to be worse with low turn motors like mine.

Nah the cogging gets worse with high turn motors, you shouldn't have any cogging at all with a 6.5, I don't get any with a LRP X11 7.5t. Usually it's bad batteries that cause cogging on low turn motors.

Default Cogging

I have been told that novak motors are pretty bad for cogging. I am going to try an LRP when I can. I only have a X11 4 or 4.5, cant remember exactly, and I haven't been game to hook it to the 60A.

sensored motors with detactable sensor cables will run on the 35A/60A. however, novak motors come with undetactable sensor cables, so novak does not work with Hobbywing.

also, running a sensored motor with a sensorless esc is really same as running a sensorless motor with a sensorless esc.... which could be again the league rule for tweeter79.

lol what, it doesn't matter if the sensor cable can't be unplugged. It's exactly the same thing as a sensored motor with a socket on it you just have to have the sensor wire dangling around doing nothing, or chop it off.
I run a Novak 5.5 on my Mamba Max and it doesn't cog, haven't tried it on the Hobbywing though since it's on the limit of what the 60A can handle.

I'm running a Fantom Ion/Trinity Duo 10.5T motor off the 35A Hobbywing esc and it seems to run fine without any cogging.

I think what you track is telling you is that you have to use a sensored system, not just the motor. This is how a lot of tracks are. BTW you should go for the 60Amp version either way
