I bash my Slash using a 5.5T/60A EZRun Combo but for track racing I'd have to agree that the 8.5T/60A Combo is much better suited.

Hi.
Is anyone of you running the Xerun 120A for slash or B44 of-road.
I see a lot of guy's running LRP sphere and I am ask myself why not Xerun 120A it is 1/3 of the price of LRP and have the same power.
I've run a 120A for 7 month's and it runs smooth and just as fast as my former LRP TC spec where 2 of them has gone in flames.
Looking forward to your reaction
Ed

mine is B44 with 8.5T, 48P 84T/19T Gearing, Running smoothly for 3 months now, no major problem encountered. here , where the wheather is hot (SG) my body does not have any vents to allow dirt and RAM Air in so i just rely on the FAN that is built into the Xerun 120A V2.
Hope this helps.

The only problem I have had was when I updated the firmware on the ESC I forgat to set the transmitter because uploading the software did reset my transmitter settings. My fold.

I know it's only RATED for 3S but so is the MM, and it handles 4&5S just fine. Matter of fact I know a guy who ran a Sidewinder on 4S no prob. I believe the main thing is capacitor and bec capacity on esc's. I mean a PROPERLY setup higher voltage combo uses less amps than a lower voltage setup. Anyone else have high voltage experience with the 60A HW.

I run my EZRun 60A on 4s. I did it both with the stock caps and with 3x 25V caps added (current setup). I have not tried 5s.
About the limitations, it's not just the caps. The main limiting factor are the FETs. The caps are based on the intended voltage with a bit of margin (because caps have large tolerances). The EZRun 60A has 15V or 16V caps (forgot exact value). Most caps have a 20% tolerance, so if you're unlucky and it's 20% low, that's 12.8V (assuming it comes with 16V). That can kill the caps, which will eventually kill your ESC because the caps help provide transient current and filter input voltage ripple.
A bigger limiting factor are the FETs. The Drain-Source voltage is limited. The MM may use FETs that can run on 5s and thus not be damaged, but every ESC model will be different as they use different FETs with different ratings.
The only way to find out if the FETs can take the voltage is to get one and try it. The 60As are only $50...not too bad if it pops. I know it works well on 4s. If you choose to go 5s, I would suggest soldering on the appropriate caps (20-30V caps). Good luck.

Thanks! Are the factory caps on the board or add on. One pic i saw of the 3in1 kit(motor, esc, and card) showed a bunch of hardware of which a set of caps with a pigtail of wire was included.

hey guys i run the 60a 8.5t hobbywing esc + motor combo and i have some serious cogging at low speeds but its fine after i accelerate i run a 1/10th scale offroad should i increase or decrease the timing settings on the esc to get rid of cogging . currently using stock settings. thanks
