Ok guys this all looks very promising but I have a question.
-I run a 13.5 class with my xxx-t and I was looking for a 13.5 motor but hobbywing doesn't have one. Will lossing that .5 of a turn hurt me?
-I was looking at running one of these esc in a few of my 1/8 conversions but I don't know what battery I can run. I will usually run a 4s or 5s set up. What is a good esc that can handle a 4s or 5s set up?

I just received my ezrun 60a + 5.5T yesterday and what can I say...it's amazing, put them in my Slash with stock gearing and a small 1750mah 2s lipo, it almost pulled a wheelie on pavement! But frankly speaking, very hard to control hard packed track with loose dirt on it, I definitely going to swap my stock tires to buggy tires, still waiting the 17mm adapters to come, hope this will perform better....

Cool

Just got the 9t/35a combo and i'm really pleased with it. One thing: it says not to use batteries with over 7.4v because the cooling fan on the esc can't take it. Does anybody know an easy way around this problem if i want to use say a 3s lipo or 8.4v nimh? thanks

Hook the fan up to the wires/plug that goes to the esc. That way it will always get 6v (because of the BEC) no matter what battery you use.

The ".5" signifies a 540 sized rotor in the motor. Going to just the 13t means you will be using a 380 sized rotor in a 540 can. Which is fine for light vehicles(2wd buggies/stadium trucks, I got one in my XXX-T). Also some tracks require a certain motor, IE your 13.5t, so a 13t(not sensored and not the same type of motor) won't be right.

As for the 1/8th, You can use the 80a or the 150a esc.

Second pack was good as well untill about 5 minutes into the run and it started stuttering BAD. I thought maybe the lipo cut-off was maybe coming on. So I hooked up the programer and made sure it was off. So to be safe I reset everything and re-did the radio setup. Ran another pack and it ran fine for the 5 minutes or so again. Dropped in another fresh pack to test and it started stuttering right away. Motor and esc has never gotten hot. Both have been only a tad warm to the touch. My setup is below. Am I missing something or what?

Car: Kyosho zx-5
Radio: Futaba 3pk with spektrum
Batts: 3700 GP, and IB 4200
Deans on the battery connection.
Motor hard wired with no bullets.
Bad batteries vs aggresive punch setting = stuttering/cogging. Check your punch setting first, set it to smooth then try again...you can read about this matter on the instructions, when you set the punch setting to aggresive mode, you have to put a very healthy battery.

Default EZRUN 80A + 3674SL on Hyper ST

Guys, I'm planning to convert my Hyper ST to brushless. I have no experience what so ever with EP car. I plan to install the EZRUN 80A ESC with 3674SL 2350Kv Motor. Will the ESC and motor be enough for the heavy truggy? Also, how long would a 4S lipo, 3000mAh 30C battery last on this combo.

Thank you very much in advance guys.

Hi, Lutach.
I know you from other forums (team wave) I see you have the XERUN 120A,
Version 1.1 or 2.0 ?
My story with EZrun is quit differend, I run fo two years LRP TC spec, and it worked OK, but lately switched to LIPO 2s and two of my LRP stopped, not burning and smoking, no lights burning, just dead.
I needed a ESC because i want to run my practise rounds so i pull out the ESC
(EZrun 60) from my son's offroad and put it in my TC Car, the EZrun will only
run 5.5 turns motors, the lowest I have is Orion 4.5 turns.
I was surprised the EZRUN performed realy good, only in lower RPM it was not
as powerfull as usual, but still very quick.by the way after all pushing the ESC
reached temp off 49 degr.C the motor 68 degr. C, very nise for A ESC of 58usd.
But this isn't the end of the story, beeing impressed by the performance of the EZrun I have ordered a XERUN 120A (2.0) and give it past week a test run.
After made the setting in accordance with the indoor track i give the throttle stick the maiden push, this was the moment i feeled allready this is OK, after the furst full run i changed all the punch settings and timing settings to its max, and run it for six minutes, each corner out and corner in under breaking
it still reacting the same way, this is wath I call a solid ESC for only 136 USD.
The temp the ESC reached is only 43 degr.C (LRP 58 degr.C , the motor 4.0t SP 69degr.C the LIPO was 53 degr. C.
Hobbywing stated on there website (THIS IS TE BEST ESC IN CHINA) and I agree this statement and for the money and performance it is the best I have ever seen.
I hope it will last a very long time for me and so far it is equall to LRP, it is even better on the programming side, with the Card connected of course.
By the way with this ESC I set the track record sharper, the first run under the 9.3 seconds, I am happy.

Hi Ed,

I'm from Belgium. I'm currently running the 60A in my Asso B4. It's paired with a Dr. Speed 12T Delta and I use the Orion Platinum 4800 lipo's.

This means a 60A esc with a motor that pulls between 50A-115A peak and lipo's that give around 96A.

Would I benefit from buying the Xerun 120A (also all the punch control options would be available) and run in sensored mode ?

Or would the 60A Ezrun also handle the Dr.Speed 9T Delta ?

Thanks
Gary

The Xerun is a good ESC and it would be wise to get the Xerun 120A instead of the more expensive highly over rated SP one which is the same as the Xerun 120A 2.0. The one I have is one of the first units built that I tested for HW.

Hi Bronco and Lutach

As you know I have the 120 for a short while, and this ESc is superpowerfull and surprised me very much , as I told the 60A EZrun (motor 4.5 turns)was able to equal laptimes as I did with the LRP TC spec and the XERUN 120A was twice as good with a good punch from stop to topspeed.
So your question about the way you like to use the ESC is if you use 12t motors this ESC will give you full satisfaction
You can even down to 4.5 turns with this ESC and if it give to much punch you can disconnect the HALL sensor cable, this will give less punch from the start while the top speed remains the same, quite opposite to other ESC's i've run with.
And of course the EZrun 60A is very usefull with the 9t DELTA
The EZrun I've seen it for 58USD and the XERUN120A for 136USD,without motor and program card, but if you have not planty room in your car the EZrun has a smaller foot print
I hope my advise is usefull for you.

Thanks

Ed

Hi Lutach

I think your XERUN 120A is vers.1.1, my version is 2.0, the same version as SP used.
And it is nice that SP is using the same ESC because it is a compliment that a big name is using the cheap chinese product, and i hope it will stay that way, then I run with those HW and left my money in the pocket.
BTW I've seen you build your own ECS for bigscale YGM.
I wish I could do it, no to get cheaper but is is interesting stuff to work with power MOSfet conductors.

Thanks

Ed

Ed,

I helped HW a lot and was the first one to ask them to make a car ESC, but at the time they had no plans for one. I gave them a few ideas and they used them and the last idea I gave them was for the new programmer they have. Now the bad part is that I got nothing from HW eccept for the one Xerun 120A. Oh well that's life, but at least I know I had something to do with the ESC. I'll soon be coming out with some things .
