This question has been ask many many time in the Nomadio Forum and Nomadio does not answer the question. Remember Nomadio has contracts with the militery so they are focusing on the war effects which is great but have not focus on the RC side.. Go to the Nomadio Forum this is what ppl say. I for one have lost hope for Nomadio and will get the Futaba 4pk once it comes out...

It is not surprising that people lost hope. Not only they shut their mouth on micro Rx, their is no further firmware development and they ignore that some people use Mac or Vista (not me)

I think military is where the big money is (you can rip off Uncle Sam as long as you have the excuse, it is not the government official paying the bill but tax payers j/k:eek::eek:).

I like my moded React (BL and better screws) since it is no longer under any warranty, I will switch to 4pk and DX3R, someone who make living out of the industry, not someone who treat RC as a toy/hobby.

You are so right. You hit the nail on the head..

Millitery is really a big money, I just watch the Ad video on Nomadio site about their Bombot (modified Emaxx, RTRed with camera). It cost 5000USD each :eek:

SUNA 01-06-2008 02:04 PM

C'mon guys. Let's be honest here...they're still a leader in technology even if they haven't released new firmware/products in a while. Military contracts or not, Nomadio has still been top notch in their customer service. Why the bandwagon hopping? I agree that they need to release new stuff...but let's be patient here. Just because they don't post regular updates on their website doesn't mean things are not being R&D'd. ;)

I think i might just buy the spektrum recievers and run the radio in the dsm mode seeing that i have some spektrum recievers. i wanted to avoid changing modes all the time.

I had a sensor for over a year. It broke in September, and when i called to get help i was told i should be a react as the sensor was our of warranty. I know use a 3pk with Fasst, and will never go back to nomadio. I to was hoping to get the Micro when they said it would be our around may. Its still not out, plus i have a vista computer and that made keeping my radio up to date impossible.

2 of the pro drivers that i race with that use to use nomadio have left, and they say to stay away. The company was under going many changes, and the hobby side was likely to be dropped.

Great, if they drop their rc div. that means I'll never get replacement parts. Its hard enough now. I am looking into a company that will make all the parts out alum. The only problem is if a c board goes I can't get that made. I may just have to jump ship.

My buddy is a full team driver for Nomadio and talks to them alot. They are not dropping the R/C side of Nomadio. From what he was telling right now the war effort is talking priority (as it should......period).

If a small receiver is such a huge thing those with the React should just use the Spektrum Mini receiver. That is what I did and had no problems and didn't notice any difference between the stock V2 transceiver vs the Spektrum Mini receiver. Only thing is no telemetry.

SUNA 01-08-2008 08:11 PM

Blah blah blah. Nomadio is not going to drop their RC division.

100% agree wyd.

Victory Side 01-09-2008 07:34 AM

I know they are not dropping it, I dropped them an email after reading this thread, and their PR Rep emailed me immediately and said there is no way they a dropping it. He did also aplogize for the delay in getting products out which I greatly appreciated. They seem to be an honest company with great product, I just torq I can't get the product I need right now, oh well patience is a virtue. :tire:

Just to let you know a little bit of what Nomadio is capable of is one of are Hobbyshop helpers is currently in Iraq flying droan remote airplanes tha use Nomadio electronics. The radio is the Futaba 14MZ with Nomadio electronics in it. These planes are huge amounts of dollars so Nomadio must have a great product to fly planes that cost hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Are guy has been in Iraq for his 3rd tour flying these droan aircraft. First two times he was in Iraq for 4 months each time and this last time he will be their a total of over 8 months and actually closer to a year.

He only tells us limited info on what his job entails but what he told us is not top secret stuff but just that generally he flies very expensive R/C airplanes with Nomadio equipment in them and thats as much as he can tell us. Still very cool to think what this company is actually capable of.

losi guy 01-09-2008 04:38 PM

As much as I like my sensor, the best one i used to date, i would guess that once the situation in Iraq slows down and we really start having more and more troops come home hopefully they will turn more focus on the r/c part of there business.

vtl1180ny 01-09-2008 05:45 PM

I've been to their HQ in PA and met the majority of the staff. They are a very small company...
