However, the primary point I was making in my initial post was that the NB4 is going to be 'better' for some, and the 'Pro' is going to be better for others...but, only the end-user can make the determination of which is best for them. In the Traxxas forum, I can't tell you how many times I've seen someone asking "which is best" between two vehicles...others are always trying to tell them one (usually, their 'fav') is better than the other, and they'll even present reasons why it's (supposedly) better...but,v these reasons are always "subjective". Ford lovers will always believe Ford is better than Chevy, and Chevy lovers will always believe Chevy is better than Ford...and, they always try to "justify" what they're saying...but, the truth is, no matter what two items are being compared, reach will always have its 'pluses' and 'minuses' compared to the other...and, it's always up to the user to decide which best meets THEIR needs (not the needs of others).
Personally, I try my best to not take 'sides', to see "both sides", and just present information, so that those inquiring can decide for themselves...and, yes, sometimes, the info I (or anyone else) present(s) does accidentally include incorrect info.

Personally, I find the appearance of this transmitter to be unattractive. I would prefer the IT4 over this one. Are there any notable differences between this transmitter and the IT4, apart from the unusual wheel position and shape?

The iT4's look is traditional but I believe 100% that the NB4 is a better radio in every single aspect. While most of the menus are the same like Expo, Dual Rate, etc, the NB4 has more assignable buttons and is more programmable, has built in battery, better screen, more receiver options not to mention the enhanced receivers which people don't seem to understand how programmable those are, faster latency, ambidextrous, built better than the iT4 though still some quirky ones out there, etc.

FWIW - I bought an NB4 this week to do some testing. Pleasantly surprised at the feel in the hand and in general, the menu settings are much easier to drive than my M11X primary radio or the Futaba 3PV. Mirroring the throttle channel the CH3 or Ch4 was super easy. The default frame rate of 380Hz should be way more than enough (one day I'll work out how to do decent latency testing).

So I finally figured out the issue. This is the 2nd enhanced receiver that has done this. The board becomes loose so it can rock up and down inside the case which caused the antenna on the inside to come undone. So now I need to resolder the antenna wire then I am going to silicone he board inside the case so it will prevent it from moving freely inside of it. I just need to take apart the other enhanced receiver to see where the antenna solders to.

Even better, WTF RC Cars already has a 'guide' video:
WTF RC Cars FlySky Noble NB4 2.0.101 Firmware Update Guide
So...what y'all waiting for? Get to it...update those radios.
EDIT: It seems that FlySky's website was updated, but the "Download" links are either not yet 'enabled', or they forgot to make them 'clickable' links. Whichever the case is, hopefully, it gets corrected soon.

Before rushing to update your radio, you may want to find out if this will try to limit non-flysky RX's like the most recent Pro update. I don't know if thats the case, it just seems likely with Flysky.

That wouldn't matter to me, as only a few of my FlySky Rxs are not actually made by FlySky, and I'm in the process of replacing any non-FlySky Rxs with FlySky Rxs. Honestly, the price difference between FlySky & 'other' Rxs is so minimal, might as well just buy FlySky, and not have to deal with any problems.

The noble is relatively old at this point but no news of anything new. Is it still a good buy?
My old gt3b backup radio died. Considering grabbing this and making my also old futaba 4pl the backup/kids radio. I'd get the normal, not the pro.

Yes, worth considering. Also worth considering are the Futaba 4PM, and Radiolink RC8X. The 4PM is only 4 channels...essentially, a 4-channel version of the 7PX/10PX..but, it's Futaba. The RC8X is up to 8 channels, and the two Noble units are up to 12 channels.

The Radiolink looks ok but costs a little more and I don't see a compelling reason why to choose it over a noble.

Don't know if you have, or plan to have, any speedrun cars...but, if you do, the Radiolink RC8X Actually does have one advantage over, essentially, every other 'trigger' style radio on the market a DSC port. Through the DSC port, you can plug in a TBS Crossfire, which, when used with TBS's Rx, changes the maximum range from several hundred meters, to several miles. That is one of the primary reasons why I'm looking at anyone. Now, if you have absolutely zero interest in speedrun cars, then the Noble (NB4, or Pro) Is your best bet.
