Holy crap look at that! I had noted this mysterious unused button like 2 years ago now. I have 3 nobles (1 is for parts), they all 3 have this button on the PCB, but no way of using them from the outside of the case (see attached image). Yours must be newer than mine, and they must have had some kind of update. Cool!

lol, mystery solved I guess.

I bought my radio back in January so definitely a newer version. My guess is they added the access to it because they were probably getting dead radios sent back that only needed to have that button pressed. That's an injection molded part so they wouldn't go around changing molds without a good reason for it.

Hi everyone 👋 I've been reading this thread for past couple of days. Answer I was trying to find is -is nb4 good enough radio for someone who is trying to get into club racing-
currently im using fs gt5 but I want to step it up a bit and I was looking at nb4, 4pm, mts or mt44.
Conclusion I got is that it's absolutely worth a try if we put aside few fw and rx issues, I hope I get the latest version. I see hobbyking doesn't have them at the moment, how's the hobbymate shipping? Should I be waiting hbking and get a vers with 2 smaller rx or get version with different ones?

if you like the GT5, you'll love the NB4. Hobbymate is a great vendor, they usually keep CN stock and US stock on Amazon Prime, the prices are usually about the same. The FGR4 is huge, but has the longest range. Longer than you'll need unless you're speed running. The FGr4P is going to give you more flexible mounting while still retaining 2/3 to 3/4 of advertised range of the FGR4. The FGr4S is easier to mount and the range is still great for bashing. If you have to mount it down inside a chassis and a box, antenna-less might not be optimal for distance. I still think you can race any track that way though.

I've been racing with the NB4 for two years now. It is a top notch radio for racing.

Bought my NB4 from Hobbymate over a year ago they have fast shipping and the radio has worked flawlessly for 1/10 touring car racing.

You guys are absolute legends 👏
I've checked hobbymates shipping and they say 30-35 days. Prices on amazon are around 240~
One more question, will larger rx fit in a standard receiver box of 1/8 buggy?

I would say that’s a safe bet, I picked up the NB4 from Amazon with the large receiver and the antenna-less rx. The large receiver fit in the receiver box of a Mugen MBX-7R Eco with room to spare, but it would not fit in the receiver box on my e-truggy. Go figure! I’ll try to post up some pics later.

I believe the FGR4 fits in the Limitless, but thats all the fits. I wanted a gyro, cap and voltage sensor too, so the FGR4 wasnt a good option, unless I mounted the Gyro outside the box. Contrary to common sense, I'm not speed running with my Limitless, just ripping around the lot, so a FGr4P was perfect and only took up 1/2 the space.

I purchased my NB4 last year from Hobbymate for $179 with shipping after a discount promotion of 15% which they had running at the time. My shipping times were also 30-35 days but my order arrived within 12 days from what I recall. I'm not claiming that's the norm but I think you'll get your gear much faster than 30 days. I also purchased 4 NB receivers this year from Hobbymate with the same projected delivery times and they arrived in under 2 weeks.

Love the radio, use it in all my kits including my King Motor X2.

Well I ordered mine couple off mins after writing that post so we'll see... I hope it will come sooner than 30days. I also got one rx extra so I can use it with all my buggies. 30$ is not that bad at all

Hi, I enjoy my Noble, but I have a question. Is it possible to record the telemetry data? I have set warnings but I like to look back after a stint.

Cheers,

Hugo

Throttle issues and others

I just got my NB4 in today and was very excited for it but ran into some issues. for some reason i can get the throttle working on either receiver. Also, on the small receiver i keep getting "receiver voltage low" warnings from the remote. i am using a 7.4v battery. anything helps!!

Did you calibrate your ESC?

Change the low voltage alarm settings.
