So I got mines last week and so far I'm loving it. I'm a complete newb to the hobby so I don't have experience with anything other than what comes with the RTR. Super easy to setup and update, but man can't see the screen under sunlight even at 100% backlight. I might just buy a anti-glare screen protector and cut to size maybe that'll help a bit, if not I guess I just learn to live with it.

I saw somewhere on the internet, where a guy had 3D printed a "Glare Shield"....someone should print, and sell those!

Here is one. If you search NB4 on thingiverse.com you can find a few different parts.
Someone posted their version of a sunshade at the beginning of this thread (post #27 I believe) https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4752071 |

My $500+ 4PX and 7PX had that same issue in sunlight and until some new screen technology comes about, it's what can be expected for the time being. The monochrome screens are truly the best for sunlight though which can be found still in many radios like the 4PV, Lynx 4S, DX5(R), etc. The screen on my Lynx 4S is VERY visible in the sun but at this point it's semi retired. Once I get my new 4.2.7 board on my Ender 3 Pro, I plan to try out one of those screen shades printed out of PETG. PETG has kicked my butt many times though. |
Just got my radio and so far it’s great. I was hoping to set the grip switch to be able to hold it down and change the dual rate to a second setting and release it to go back to the default setting. So a momentary switch. Currently it’s dual press operation to go from say 70% to 100% then back to 70%. So a latching switch. Is momentary possible. If not I’d suggest that for a firmware upgrade.

If the channel is already assigned a main function (Throttle) then you can't currently set it to anything other than an alternate configuration for that same function. Think alternative throttle or brake mixes. I'll message them have them add it to the list of suggested features for future releases. |

I messed with with my radio days ago as I was curious about this. davkastheranger is basically correct in his response however, you could still technically do this that you have asked about via the "Mixes" menu option. What you need to do in the mixes menu is first choose your main input, in this case, steering. Then, under the "slave" option, you will notice that you are allowed to choose "steering" again so choose it. Moving towards the bottom of the menu option you will see "low side mix" and "high side mix" and I honestly can't tell you which is left or right but the values are at 100%. Set the current values into negative values (for less steering throw) and you're done for now. Now go into your trigger assign option tab and choose a switch. Afterwards, set the "function" to either mix 1-8 (whichever one you picked previously) and leave the "mode" at "trigger." This should then do what you are trying to accomplish in that you'll have 100% throw when the button is at rest but it will limit travel while you push and hold the button. I admit I didn't physically confirm this with an RC but rather I used the radio "display" option as confirmation. I will also note that I personally found it uncomfortable to push and hold the handgrip button while at the same time steering but with practice, I could probably get used to it. |

I think X% brake for a drag car so that it doesn't upset the car or lock the wheels would be one scenario, and maybe as a launch control when starting a race if you want to cut down on wheel spin. |

Flysky wanted scenarios for how a momentary switch function would be useful, and so I had to think up some ideas.
I think X% brake for a drag car so that it doesn't upset the car or lock the wheels would be one scenario, and maybe as a launch control when starting a race if you want to cut down on wheel spin. When running oval we might use only 30% steering. in a wreck we might need 100% to get turned around. In on road I turn down my dual rate to the max I need for the sharpest turn. Same problem, might need 100% to get righted. Trying to push twice can be confusing for some while getting back in traffic. I use this always on carpet and asphalt, not all ways on dirt. Most people I know use the momentary button. Hope this helped Tom |
