Had a chance to try out a DasMikro FHSS-5 receiver. Used it in FH5 mode will SSL with a PGS-CX2 servo and CODE10 worked as expected. I also tried it with SXR in FH5U mode and it also worked fine (I honestly can't tell the difference between SUR and SXR). I didn't experience any signal loss, clipping or other oddities. I also compared its range to a real Sanwa 492i, and it was pretty much the same. I haven't tried FH5U with the PGS-CX2 in the SSL port, but I'll try it over the weekend.

I'll still run original Sanwa receivers in my competition cars, but this looks like a nice alternative for bashers and some of my 'fun' chassis.

oh, that is good to know yours working in ssl, did you set the servo with different racing steering modes (parameter)? can you share what you set code10?
too bad that mine not working,.........

I didn’t have a lot of time to set things up, so I only played with DBAND. That’s a pretty easy way to see if SSL is working.

There's a new Sanwa compatible receiver coming out! Looks like it might be a rebranded Das Mikro - https://www.redrc.net/2023/08/takash...s/#more-214127.

the video didnt show the PGS-XRII servo "PLUGGED" into the SSL socket in the receiver and change the preset "setting" on the fly from the transmitter. it just shows setting the servo in transmitter for 1 setting ONLY.
please kindly advise if i missed any. thanks

I noticed there is a V2 of the FH5 receiver from Das Mikro. I perused the last bit of this thread and didn't see if the discussion is V1, V2 or both? Curious if V2 corrected the issues that were present in early versions. I need to order some of their FH4 receivers so if things are looking up, I'll add an FH5 to the order.

My one that has brownout issues is the original version.

oh, how to tell which is v1 or v2? i guess my unit is v1.

The case looks different.

V1

V2

And that also means it is technically different?

Probably. Not sure whether the internals are changed or whether there's a difference in capabilities, seems odd they've got both in quick succession. The V2 case looks like a pretty blatant copy of the RX-492.

Negative

All relievers have neg on outside besides v1. V2 has neg on outside. I have 6 fake receivers. They all work fine.

this is what i thought and i am asking for exchange for the v2.
normally it is considered major change in term of technical after such a short product launch
