Something different. I'm not a huge fan of VTA bodies but my paint job makes it better

Note to self: Never attempt to race at the track that allows the above body to race in a VTA class.

I hope there isn't a track that exists that would tell someone they couldn't race because of their paint job.

+1 - Throw some numbers in the right spots, and let it race... Those that race VTA regularly would make the mistake of entering something that nice only once!!!

True enough Mike .....BUT...paint jobs like that also shouldn't be encouraged since they technically violate the rules or , at best, the spirit of the rules.
No sane club or track director should say no to a racer wanting to drive BUT we're all responsible for educating and encouraging everyone to adhere as closely as possible to the rules. It's what makes VTA a strong class and will help keep it that way for a long time.

Whatever...these pointless rules keep the creativity out of it.

Actually, there are a lot of great paintjobs that have been posted showing wonderful creativity and skill BUT also staying within the rules. A 70 Cuda body or a 68 Camaro body isn't a VTA body until it's painted to reflect the style of a Vintage Trans Am car.
Your paint work, although clearly a nice job, simply doesn't qualify as a VTA body. Now, slam that body on a chassis with some drift or VIP style wheels and tires and you've got something different that would easily compete against a similar Honda, Mazda , etc. Kinda like that early Mustang drifter in "F&F Tokyo Drift"

Thanks EVO for expressing some of my thoughts in a very concise manner.

We would let him race, but we would likely make him a target for harrassment. Just kidding Dane. Come on by and we will be happy to race against your easter egg.

it says preferred not required. And it says frowned upon not banned. So get your freak on painting I say. This is fun racing and should not be so rigid as to discourage someone from painting a killer body even if its not in the spirit of the rules. Of course this is from the guy that pushed the roar body appearance rules and won.
