Default Alternative Tyres/Wheels?

Finally got my hands on one and really like the power and handling.
Tyres don't last that long though?
(although I did do a fair few Donuts Round the Car Park)

Has anyone tried other Tyres/Wheels?
£130 for a set of 4 in the U.K, that's a lot of dollars.
The 6ix Hex's are 20mm which is a bit odd ball.
They can be changed for 17mm Hex's though.
Kyosho Inferno GT2 1/8th Wheel Hex's fit straight on, just remove the pin and slide 1/8th Hex adapters straight on the shaft. Just need to find some big 1/8th Wheels now.

Has anyone managed to get Some FG/MCD 1/5th scale adapters?

I think the Losi 5iveT has FG square wheel adapters available?

FG/MCD would be a cheaper option if they fit?

$140 for us in the States. I got 4 runs out of the original set. Did a lot of powerslides though. Plus was trying to not use the AVC.
1/8 tires just seem to small even if they could fit. And the FG tires, at least the ones I have are too big. Would require body to be hacked up.
Have feeling kinda stuck with the stock tires until one of the companies sees enuff of a market to make them.

Cheers Billy, Looks like we're stuck with the £130 Tyres then for now,
I'm thinking maybe some of the 1/8th monster truck on-road Wheels may do the job?

Thanks for the reply.
I'll keep looking, if I find anything cheap to fit, even of slightly too small, they may be good for car park Bashing? I'll update if I do.

Added some pictures of an original wheel and some 1/8th Wheels.
Kyosho GT2 Wheel is the smallest
Team C (TC0807B) do an oversized onroad wheel that are under £10 each, still a touch small, and they need the 17mm hub on them. but maybe good for Bashing.
They have great grip and wear slow wear.
Hub change only takes a minute.
I think the total diameter is 109mm ours are 121mm
I think, although I have no tape measure to double check.

A few more pictures,
I'll have to check to see how strong the hub is and that there is no rub anywhere when driven.

But maybe worth a look for a few people that wanna have a cheaper bash round the car park till a cheaper tyre comes out?

That is going to be the deal breaker. That is just really, really expensive. A full set of GRP 1/5 tires are less than $100! Not much reason for the Losi to be more expensive than that if it has a diet for tires every half a dozen runs. Yikes.

how is life with the FG 1/5 onroad tires?

Seems maybe losi went for traction on these tires versus focusing on longevity?

Even driving like a dink with powerslides and stuff I have gotten about a gallon out of a set of GRPs, and a gallon of fuel is a LOT of wheel time in a gasser.

1/5 tires are more durable and life is about 2-3 racedays with practice. The mains can be between 30 minutes to an hour. Sometimes I get handouts from the top racers of 5th scale here[California] in our local races. Nice thing about 5th scale onroad is the 2wd and 4wd cars use the same wheels. A few manufacturers like more popular GRP, PMT and even a tad cheaper priced SP Racing tires. To each his own on the popular brands. I saw a couple of the above brands come out to around $25 to $40 a pair. $50 to $80 for a set of four is good. Great grip and longevity is important.

I knew tires where going to be the issue. Was hoping for closer to 10 runs out of s set. Not the 3-5 that most of us are getting.
A few owners are trying GRP 1/5 wheels. I'm waiting for follow up. Pictures looks good. One owner had to trim body, another did not. Front splitter did require some to allow front wheels to turn. I just don't want to cut the body.
I just put new set of the stock tires on yesterday. See what I can get out of these.

Default New R8 - Tips please

Chaps, brand new to this forum so HI.

Just got my LOSI 6ix R8 today. Haven't run it yet just checking it out first.

Any advice on tweaking or running in?

Think it has a 21t pinion as standard. What speeds should I expect from 6s. Any heating issues?

Is stock out the box best set up?

Im an experienced RC car user. Just finished my LOSI 2 front and rear diff conversion on my Erevo. Wow took me ages.

Any advice on this car would be great. There is not much around.

Thanks
