I have an rdlogics turbo 2 pipe, is this pipe ok with the spec 2?
I read through the forum and not much is talked about the spec 2. Infact it's hard to find any info at all. I guess lrp ditched the engine for the spec 3 as it's not even on their website. In my mind associated makes good kits so this engine should be good.
Any problems with reliability?

Well i tried my spec 2 for the first time this weekend and I believe this will be a good club engine.
I did have a problem with the low end. The top speed of the motor was very good and the top end worked flawlessly on the back straight. The second i would take a corner and accelerate, the engine was sluggish on the technical part of the track.
My temp was 255f and it pretty muched stayed there. My low speed was 1.75 turns out. I didn't want to lean the high speed out more as the top end was good.
My question is: in your experience is the kind of engine that likes to run hot and is 1.75 on the bottom not enough?

Lrp engine model: 31202
low: 6.75 turns
High: 5 turns
If you need the manual, go to: http://www.lrp-electronic.de/index.htm
go under products, nitro engines, then find your model and all the info is there + the user's manual.
Does anyone know if the spec 3 carb is the same as the spec 2? In my manual my low speed is at 2.5 turns.

Ufo 2 clutch on it's way. I'm using 19pinion/47 spur.
i'm also thinking it's my clutch. My next race is this saturday and hopefully i will have the new clutch in time. If not, i will use my old parts but i'll try different shoes.
I was reading a old race reports from 2004-2005. If the engine won races in those years, it must be me who is setting up the car wrong. I also have another pipe to try incase it's that. I have a good pipe but it may be incompatible.

I'm not having much luck with the motor.
I got my new clutch and asjusted that saturday morning. It grabs good and i know there's no slip in the clutch.
I got the car on the track and got the car to the point where the speed and acceleration where good but no idle. The second i let off the gas, the car died. Also the second i hit something - even very lightly, the engine cut off.
I richened the low speed and adjusted the idle and the engine seemed fine. Good speed all around and the temp was around 240-255f. By the way, because of our weather, 250f is quite normal here.
I get the car off the track to install tires,etc... Put the car back on the track for the qualifier and the engine is running really rich. No speed at all. The weather didn't really change. We re-adjusted the engine on the high speed needle just a hair. then it ran good.
The next qualifier, the same thing. i didn't touch the engine and the thing ran really rich. We retuned the hsn. The same thing happened in the 3rd qualifier.
during the race, my car cut off at about 8 minute mark. We pulled the car in and my plug was dead. Put another plug in and out i go. since the plug was a different kind, we had to retune a hair leaner. At about 15min the car died again but this time the engine was at 340f !!!!! I stopped the engine and let it cool down. I went back out at 20minutes with an rb 7 cold plug and finished the race. The car finished with a temp of 280f.
This is freaking me out. The engine just seems to re-tune itself. I'm presently sealing the carb, back plate, changing my gas tank and fuel lines.
Are these carbs known to loose a tune?
Thanks
