I have a Nova Rossi RX21R1WC, thru like 1/2 gallon only......with 20% fuel, however, I still don't know do I have to add shim under the head........?
The one under the head right now is the SILVER stock one, I believe it is a 0.3mm shim.......for 20%, do I have to add a 0.1mm or 0.2mm to 0.50mm? I have seen a lot of setup (from serpent) by using 25% and their shim setup are 0.6mm to 0.65mm........and 30% are up to 0.7mm..... I am only using 20% now.....do I need to add shim? or setup to 0.5mm total? Thanks....... |
Only when you are using 30% nitro or more, then additional shim is needed to prevent early detonation, and/or to make idle better.
BTW, do you know anyone who can produce NSR S5 sleeve only ? I want to buy bunch of them. |

Thanks.....but still, do you guys know for 20% fuel...what is the head shim thickness...? I just need to know......(0.03mm for 21 engine sounds a little thin)...

hi..wanna share my experience with u guys ... ;) :D i had my nova S5 motor for 2 and a half years......of course piston sleeve no more/ or almost no compression....anyway other parts such as crankshaft, internal bearing and outer bearing, conrod has been replaced in that 2 years except the piston seleeve... :sneaky:
so b4 my club race last weekend i gave the piston/sleeve to a friend for 'pinching' .... (i have never done this b4 so decide to give it a shot) ...after that i can feel more resistance than previous. after 2 tanks sort of 'break in' i raced the motor......  wow i was really surprise , (of course thanks to my mechanic very good tuning)... the motor didnt' even dies once starting frm 3 / 5 minutes heats plus the 45 minutes main....i can feel the power ... i enjoy it ... i combine the motor with rd logis 61217 pipe, 25%gammalube fuel and no 7f nova glowplug.... :D :D thanks |
grinder : thank alot men !
racbj : so pinching tool works ? I want to know how long the sleeve will last after being pinched. |

I have a Mugen MR12 engine that is in need of new bearings. I thought there might be a Novarossi compatable bearing set for this engine?
Is there anything between the Mugen MR12 and Novarossi equivelent of this engine that will interchange? This is my first on-road engine, taking a break from Unlimited MT for a bit. Maybe a place to get parts for it? Any info on this would be appreciated. |

from my experience it only last for 1 or 2 full day race. but dont expect the performance as good as new engine but at least it still competitive. it works well if ur sleeve is still new n in good condition.. |
whats the best place to get rebuild parts for a ns3? standard button.
