Upgrade to mito GT 2017
Yes. I have the 2016 and the 2017 versions. The 2017 has a shade more torque than the 2016 version all things being equal. The only change is the liner which is basically a 7 port liner with two ports either side of the exhaust port being opened up into 2 large square ports making the 5 ports. You can 'update' a 2016 engine just by changing the piston/liner set.
What the part number for the 2017 piston/liner? Base on the novarossi exploded view I am seeing 08544SB/17 and 08544SB/16 for the 2016 spec. but when searching on the internet I am not finding it. Well only on rc target which is sold out. On Novarossi direct it only says 08544SB. So I am not sure which spec they are referring too. Can u direct me to a website that has the 2017 piston/liner?
Much appreciated

Whats the best nova engine for out right power for a GT car? I already have MitoGT 2016 and I m not impress with it. Need something more powerful, I m thinking of getting Mito35 WC (onroad version), will this be good choice? BTW my local races do not have the rules restriction as per ROAR (5port 7mm). As a long as it is .21 size then its legal to be use.

I would ask though that the Mito GT5 is a very quick GT engine and we need to see why you aren't particularly happy with it. GT is clutch critical and you have to get a good clutch together in order to unleash the power of the engine. You would run a different setup on a Picco GT1 engine vs a Mito GT5 because the power bands are in different places. Which car/clutch setup are you running. What area of the engine do you feel it is not powerful enough?
What pipe/manifold are you running? If you went to a 9886/41032 combo and put a 9mm restrictor in the engine you'll get more power.

Novarossi also have a 9 port GT engine. Mito 35 Rally 9 which is basically a 9 port version of the GT5.

Yes you can run the WC mito in GT without any issues and it will be a bit quicker than the Mito GT5 due to its very nature. It'll have more top end however I wouldn't expect the bottom end to be much better than the GT5. In fact the 9-port WC engine could actually be less powerful at the bottom than the GT5.

I felt the engine is particularly very soft on accelaration with not that impressive top end either. Honestly it has been good so far actually and maybe its just the limit of this engine. I just want to get a more powerful one since my club does not restrict to ROAR 5port7mm rules, basically I can bolt any 21 engine and use it for race. I just want to know which nova engine is better than my current MitoGT that somebody has hands on experience with it in a GT.
