What are your thoughts?

If you are running the Shepherd, which it looks like you are from your signature, the off-set carb Novarossi engines such as the Mito 7 & 9 and the Virtus will not fit properly into the car and allow the carb to open properly.

You want the Mito 7C & 9C or the Mito 35WC

Hi, I just got a .21 ison for 1/8 onroad, but I am also getting to the end of my glow plug inventory and looked at the current nova plug listing. RB used to make 1 plug in each heat range while Nova had a short and long(c and f?). looking online I found 7 versions in a heat range: C, F, H, T, FB, HB and TB. the motor was shipped with a 6F.

I checked nova's website and its 1/8 suggestions list 7H,8H,9H, but also shows the "T" line and "B" line. the Italian notes translate as:

"HB" maggiore potenza =>more power
"FB" come la HB ma più fredda => same as HB but colder
"TB" migliore runtime => best runtime

I have only a RB 7 and nova 8c left, so is there a short answer for which plug(s) to order? I will only ever run this at GLARC if that helps simplify the answer. thanks for any advice,

C8TGH - for ambient temperature: 10°C/40°C

This is the best plug to use with Novarossi engines, the plug included in the engine is best used for break in purposes.

Or 50-104 Fahrenheit

hi all i have a keep on 21 runing in a serpent 977 and are new to onroad,
what sort of rpm should the clutch come in at.as at the momment it does not
engage till past half throttle and seems very aggresive whilst i'am still learning.

I use a Nova 6tgf (short body) in a .12 size engine when running 16%nitro.

Pass you soon...

I find that extremely difficult to believe. A single plug cant cover that wide of a temperature range. Please explain how the plug is able to run hot enough for cold days and cold enough for hot days without a negative affect on engine timing.

Assuming standard parts and a gap of approx. 0.7mm
Tighten the spring all the way in, then loosen it 1.5 turns.
This should give a reasonable baseline setting to start.

Well I don't race above 40c or below 10c, so the 8 covers all fine, never encountered an issue.

Bonito 21-7xlb/a

Just bought a Bonito 21-7xlb/a. Ran a used Nova for my last motor and loved it considering it was pinched 3 times. The only downfall was that my tank only lasted about 7.5 minutes. I assumed it would make it atleast 8 and ran out leading the amain.

So my question is... how do I get this thing to run top notch with good run times? Do I send it to someone (seems like that's what the fast guys do)? Sell it and get a different motor? Or what?

Bonito is an offroad engine, you should ask this in the Novarossi topic in the offroad engine forum. Also over there are more engine modifiers to find.

Do people pinch on road engines at all or is that an off road thing?

Roelof 05-24-2016 07:00 AM

Onroad is also done, I do it mainly for onroad but in the onroad it looks like people have more trust in a new engine. And as you may know, in the onroad the engine plays a huge role in performance compared with offroad where the setup and driving plays a bigger role than the engine.
