The Mito 9C is just a Flash based engine and I believe Kurzbuch did win the worlds with this engine.

Do not know why but do see the normal Mito on sale everywhere so something is going on. To me it is proof that special bearings, an xtra long stroke and an offset carb is not needed to go fast and I hope that the guys who think that the higher the price and technology is garanteed for faster laptimes do see it also.
I think (and hope) Novarossi has seen this too to go back and focus on the real things that makes an engine instead of trying to be different with different (patented) parts. |

I am not sure about on road but the fastest engine to date on drag racing has been the Virtus by far! I tried all the top Nova engines and the Virtus currently holds the record on IMDRA. The record was set early this year from a 1.46 to a 1.40 in 132 feet. That is a huge difference for our application. Again, I am not sure how that will translate to on road if it does at all!!

virtus is also wining at gt drag races and on road sessions ,as virtus has a exploding torque .but putting next to a sirio rr sti i was so disapointed a back to the basic engine like reloaf says is reaping all my novarossi engines , i was in to totaly surprise an old engine wining all tha drag races with all the cars ,we tried everything ,still she was passing first.

so now we have the answer about what engine was using kurzbuch ,it was a mito c based but with different sleeve ,different crank and differences also at the crankcase, novarossi released this engine.http://www.novarossi.it/2012/index.p...on-engine.html

The Mito 9C and Mito 35 WC are currently the top of the line engines for Novarossi, they've returned to an older philosophy of engine design of which they were very clearly good at too! I don't think in on road there is any substitute for RPM and we all want that, Novarossi are delivering on that at the moment, don't get too hung up on the fact they look like they've made a step backward, they haven't! simply in the right direction. |

Other sleeve, crankcase and crank I do not see. Maybe it is that I do see it different because the performance of an engine is made by timings and materials and not by partnumbers. Maybe it is also because I have seen many same model Novarossi engines with all different timings. |

All I see is an engine with a normal long stroke (16.22x16.8), a center positioned carb, a normal 14.5x26x6 main bearing and (sadly) a 7x19x5 main bearing. Basically how the Flash was designed.

i know that tornado is a old fuel but i was having also big luck with it over all these years with my novarossi and other engines ,i have tryied almost all and end up using tornado or o donel , rapicon was a strange suprise also in drag races the 30 per cent. i dont want to start any fight just the good recipy the latest 5 years was 16.26 -16-80 engines and tornado or donel.what was your good set up recipy stroke profile and fuel i mean

I never had runned an Xtra long stroke but last I had a Virtus to change the bearing and when I measured the timings I noticed it had a wider crank timing and a lower exhaust timing from what I used to see from Novarossi. And this year I had a Flash I modified and I must say it was fast but my N21-5T engines are also capable to keep up the faster models.
It is waiting if ever such a Mito 35 fall into my hands so I can measure it. I hope it is reasonable priced. |

yes a litle change in timing can do a difference for demanding races .comparing the long stroke withe super long stroke i was untill now having luck with the 16.26 -16.80 .i mean normaly long stroke.when ever i tryied super long stroke.i want your experince roelof and from other people here ,maybe iwas doing something wrong ,just comparing 16.26 -16-80 engines with 15.88-17.60

I normally drive with Runnertime. In my opinion the best you can get.
