Hey guys been a while since I have been away from this forum. The EVO 3 is the same JLR motor since it came out or has it been updated?

Default Fast

I just ran a red dot for my first race. I race dirt oval sprint cars and this engine is very fast. I ran a rd logics 0506 pipe that has the 6 mm stinger. This engine had more power than I needed and I am very impressed. The only issue I had was that it uses a different collet and I could not use the associated flywheel that I normally run. Do they sell different collets for this motor or just the one that comes with it ?

The JL EVO 3 had a modified crankshaft and a modified rear back plate.

Yes, you can buy different collets for the JL or you can grind down the original collet that came with the engine so you can use the Associated flywheel. (grind down .5mm on the back side/big end of the collet) or you can buy the collet made by Xray for PICCO engines.

Thought i'd post it up, tried a Ninja pipe this weekend, absolutely flys and makes runtime EASY.

How do you like it compared to your JLR?

TK - Thanks for clearing that up. When I saw EVO2 I thought of the IDM picco being it was labled "Evo 2".

It won't be that far from the EVO 2 tuning.

Also here is a X-Dyno sheet of the JLR stock "un modified" on the 2607 pipe and a AB Mods stage 1 race mod on the same exact engine, pipe, plug and fuel that I layed over top of it.

Plug used was a Dynamite #8 cold turbo for both stock and modified runs. I let out the run on the modified engine at 40KRPM on purpose. It keeps producing more power over stock, but theres no reason to string them out this high IMO. Specially when you dont wanna chance wearing it out when ur about to throw it in your car that you will be racing soon These engines will rev to and over 50K on the dyno with no problem if I let them...

Which engine is it on the Dyno? JL EVO 2 or the new JL EVO 3?
