JL Racing .12

Bottom end should be adjusted so that NO fuel/air ratio change occurs when transitioning from low to high. Other words, actual fuel/air ratio should be the same at 10% throttle as 100%, or at least very close to the same.
The solution offered before is the correct one. hotter plug will allow a richer setting. Heat will not disipate as well on hot humid days, so you may need to run the engine richer than you would like, but don't try to tune to the same temp as you would on a cooler/drier day. It is going to run a bit warmer

does anyone know what the needle settings are for thhe JLR .12, its not the EVO3, but i think its one of the first JLR.12, says OFNA-PICCO_JL on the head.
fairly new to nitro on-road, so dont want to mess this engine up with incorrect tuning, so i guess it will be best to start off with standard needle settings and work my way from there, i broke then engine in using heat cycle method, idled for 2 mins, let the engine cool right down and then idle again for two mins, doing this for about 8 times, then richened the needle from "box" settings about 1/4 turn and ran about two tanks, engine boggs a bit, but i dont want to mess with the needle settings until i know what the standard settings are.
temps here are around 28-32 deg/cel with 60-70% humidity, we run 16% here as well.
please help

LSN is 6 turns out from close
These settings are on my Evo3 (new and unused) and should be the same for all

thanks rob, also a serpent dealer here sell mega plugs, which i assume are the same as picco plugs, would i be correct in saying that a hot no.6 mega plug will be fine. we runs 16% and i removed a shim, engine only had 3 vbrass shims when i took the head off, didnt have anything to measure head clearance so i just removed one shim, so the engine only has two brass shim in it now, will this be fine for 16%.
thanks

Rias,
Just make sure that the plugs that you can get from Dave/Mike (serpent) are the picco based mega plugs and not the Nova based plugs. Then they should be fine. I use the No6 plug up here in Pretoria.
If you go to Sam's site it will tell you what shipment is to SA. Go through the process of ordering one, and you will see that it includes shipment fees to SA. I've ordered twice from him now, and the service is good. (sorry, its excellent) (Even to SA )
You can get plugs and a pipe from him as well.

You obviously run it too lean, now to inspect your engine, take off your Cooling head and check you Head button and the piston top for detonation (pit marks) if it has detonation marks then it did overheat, I would change the head button so it will be smooth again for better combustion and the connecting rod for safety measures, overheating does weaken the Rod.

thanks pro-e, hey rob, just pulled the head off again, here is what this engine was shimmed with out the box:
2 .20 shims
1 .10 shim.
not 100% sure but there are a total of three shims, two thicker ones and one thin one.
so the head clearance for 16% will be .30, so i take of one .20 shim right?
