Same engine, same problems, different looks and different commercial story?

This engine has further evolved as O.S.'s flagship engine, and by revising the shape of the 9-port cylinder, the output characteristics in the mid-range have been improved.
The cylinder liner uses a new 9-port shape, and by revising the port shape, power in the mid-range has been improved.
The crankshaft uses the well-established EURO2, and in combination with the rear bearing that uses ceramic balls, it improves the feeling even at low speeds.
The connecting rod has also been changed to a stronger type. The carburetor has been revised to make it easier to adjust during races.
It has been reborn as the O.S.SPEED R2106, which can give you an advantage in races.

Most important info that people like to know is if the scratching piston is solved. Just saw a new topic on Facebook someone had experienced this several times with the latest R2105 and it started with the 1st R2104 and over the years they have worked on portshapes. Funny thing of that FB topic is that 1001 reasons are given why this happens

I heard it might be based on the older XZ-R design. The person that told me information said it would be in close spec's to the Maxpower engines. The only thing I could think of is the older XZ-R engines had a slightly different bore and stroke. I know the stroke of these older engines where 16.80mm and the bore was 16.27mm. Honestly I've have personally run both the Speed XZ-R and the current Speed R21 family of engines and haven't had any troubles with either. But I haven't tried any of there newer 9 port designs except for the GiMar Saturn which I had no issues with piston or sleeve damage that the R2104 and R2105 seem to be having.

People seem to have more trust in the 7 port engines and to be honest, I think the difference between 7 and 9 ports based on a same configured engine is hard to notice. But still so far I know no serious issues are reported with all 7 port models, I even know a guy who did put 7 port P/S sets in his 9 port engines after scratching pistons.

About the R2105 I had a lot of thinking about the non anodized head, many IR temp meters, even my FLIR can not read shiny objects. That can cause misreadings of the temperature.

R2106 bore and stroke is still 16.08mm\17.20mm same as previous 2105 & 2104 editions.

I looked into this when I recently started pitting for someone. Fluke or Flir has info on how to deal with IR temp meters and shiny surfaces.

The SkyRC design is ideal for nitro engines. The stereotypical gun isn't, unless you mod the housing so it looks like the SkyRC.

Knowledge and calibration is required.

After my experience with scored pistons in the 1204 Shimo 2 and 1205 V1 engine, I personally don't trust OS.

I had a simple affordable 32x32 pix heatcam and must say that regardless the low resolution you can detect enough.View weeks ago I was looking arround and found a decent heatcam in a good electronics shop, it is called an Infiray C200+ with a resolution of 256x192. Also at this moment the R2105 (V2) are dumped for a good price so I bought 2 of them, then I can do some tests. I have 2 type of tests planned on several heads to find out some differences.
