i have pitted for a guy at our track who has a new ro1. 2 weeks ago he was breaking it in and it was running 205-210 for the entire day. last week i leaned it out and it was running 225 at close to max lean(high humidity and around 90 degrees). i was temping with an exergen gun. this motor seems pretty good compared to much more expensive motors and factoring in the price, it looks tough to beat.
i run a serpent with a c5 rody so i have nothing to gain by plugging this motor.

p.s. he is using 20% nitro

Just called Mugen Racing. T01 should be out in about 2-3 weeks.

The motor still sounds rich. The Ninja motor will read hotter then a Nova or Picco motor because the temp reading is right at the glowplug. I have been running the motor around 260 to 300 deg depending on the outside temp.

Cool

Will there be a MR12T01 with a rotary carburetor?

Dont think so... I believe the .12 engines were designed specifically for on-road. But only Mike or Robbie can answer that question accurately.

The MR21-R01...

Is this engine easy to tune?

How does it hold it's tune?

How does it compare to an OS .21 VZ-R Turbo II?

I saw him running the T01 last Saturday. It looks pretty good. I'm not sure if they were still breaking in the motor or just fine tuning it but so far the engine looks good enough to win a National Championship.

It's been about two weeks since I last spoke with Mugen USA. Anybody know if the T01 is available for purchase anywhere?? Anybody know which dealer might be getting it first??

Thanks for the info!

Does anybody know why Mike Swauger didnt run a Ninja at the 1/10th ROAR Nationals? I heard that it wasnt fast enough so he used his trusty JP?

Not true. From what he said, the ninja .12 T01 motor was as fast as his JP's. I helped tuned one of his ninja motors during one practice session at the nationals, and I can tell you this that his motor was extremely fast even at temps of 190 degrees F .
