That's exactly how mine was. After the first tank the pinch suddenly appeared...lol!

Not trying to pull the thread back from the dea but has anyone tried the .28 version? I was interested in something cheap so I was not beating up my nicer motors and snatched one of the .28's up.

If the .21 gets poor gas mileage, I would be curious how the .28 does on gas?

I have no intentions to race with this motor. I was simply interested in it so I can save usage on my nicer motors. However I will give a complete review of the product once I receive it.

I also decided to remove a coper shim, increase the exhaust timing and add a little crank timing. Immediately noticed that it increased the RPM dramatically!

No issues with the carb and there is no rod slop. I have not been kind to the engine, as it got a race tune after only 8 tanks of aggressive break in

Maybe I got a good one? I will check back in after another two gallons.
Can you show me how you modified yours? I want to try and play around with mine since it was cheap enough. I want to know more about adding some timing on the crankshaft. Thanks

The place is in the upper part of the exhaust port, file it approximately 0.2mm upwards

so finally got to run one of these and im impressed also. tune was easy, power is smooth (softer clutch) and it has good punch with 1.1s. im running a 083 right now but not sure it needs anything else. i got a rebuild kit too and put it in an old go case with a ceramic bearing i had. that one, same thing. have not looked at run time yet, their still in the first gallon. ill try my favorite pipe combo soon, 083 w/short header. the gos loved that combo.

Just a quick update. I'm on gallon......hell....I don't even know anymore! Still running strong. Likes the Werks 2013 pipe/header combo. Quite possibly the best practice engine ever. Nice and punchy down low but does lack on the top.

Save your big boy engines for race day and put a Trackstar .21 in your practice rig.

I put 5 tanks on this thing, its badass!! Super easy to break in, this is a very nice change. Power is plentiful and crisp. I got 12min. on only the 5th. tank, 7.0 carb restrictor with werks 2013 and os p3 plug. I would race this bitch with the best of them, so far Best engine I have ever had!!

Since they sold well last year I have 8 more on the way. They will be sold modified with pinch corrected. These are not the same ones that Hk sells, these will have the coated crank and 3 needle carb.

I have a brand new engine its completely disassembled. I was planning to increase the timing ETC but I lost interest. Will sell it for the same price as HK + Shipping + paypal Fees. Or send as a gift.
