A Main was selling the G5T for only $99 last year... so it's not hard to believe, when you think HobbyKing isn't trying to run the kind of markups American dealers are.
----
I tested a Scanner SEG several months ago; it has the 3-needle carb and VZ based cased. Just have to play the wait and see game with the HobbyKing version.

Well, how good are the several engines in these forums made by the same factory?

Yes, I am in complete agreement with you Ed. This is what happens when you deal with the devil.

You are correct only to a certain extent. I have been involved with manufacturing, wholesale, retail, and import and export for the better of 20 years. There is of course lots of greed and profit involved but I know for a fact that any item made by anyone person or machine can only be made so good or so bad and still function as its intended use. While my knowledge has nothing to do with micro motors, you just cannot manufacture an engine or anything for that matter that is priced below the value of its raw components and have it be worth spit. What good is an engine even at $20 if the materials used are just completely worthless? I can almost say beyond a shadow of a doubt that a $59 engine will (maybe) start, and run for a few tanks of gas, and as soon as it takes the force associated with that first crash or big landing its toast. It's just not possible to make an engine for $45 (what raw cost should be if sold for $59) that cranks at 40,000 rpm, runs at 200+ degrees and gets beat on by crashes and landings and expect anything more than 10-15 minutes of punishment. I hope for shits sake I am wrong but highly doubt after all these years that one tiny factory in China has completely revolutionized the micro motor industry while also having a blatant disregard for profits. Just not happening people.

I'll just leave it at that before stepping on toes.

I just wonder what size these bearings are. if they are the normal size as many others then this alone is very interesting. Nova bearings are too expensive and the 8 dollar for a pair is even beating many other suppliers where you can get a front bearing only. And ofcourse the quality is a main question but paying 50 euro for a 25.4x14 Nova bearing is also not giving me a good quality.....
And I wonder if the sleeve is 19.5mm in diameter, if so then for the 22 dollar you can give old engines a new life....

I agree with Jazz how the hell can someone produce an engine then sell @ this price that's why I Purchased I'm curious. Maybe their taking a loss maybe they purchased a batched that's was undercut who knows. Maybe this engine will exceed expectations, maybe it will blow up on the first tank but I call this fun curious minds want to know.
