Let me guess, its in Japan?

I'd love to get one as well! I never have luck ordering from Japanese sites that make special parts.. they never respond.

Mika if you have luck, order 2 and i'll buy one from you.

Yeah. Maybe Stein has this in his stock, I know he has some really cool FS stuff from Japan..

But I'm happy with my current setup, the 2-speed and clutch work well enough. Engine mounts are fine, too.

My custom rear belt snapped, I knew it will happen and stiches won't last long, I'm hoping to get a 220mm belt soon. Until then it's front drive only hehe..

If you can advise about a belt, roughly 220mm in length, please do so. I ordered a TF-5 belt, that should be around that in length, not sure if it will fit though before I get it.

Exhaust needs some work too but nothing that can't be solved.

Stein if you have the pilot shaft and collet, I'd like to buy them. I have a TG10 Mk.2 and would love to use the centax clutch with my FS26

Hey guys, I really want to thank everyone who has contributed to this thread! Its made putting my car together a lot easier than it would have otherwise been.

I've been collecting parts for this swap for years, its been a back burner project for quite some time, and it all finally came together this morning. It still needs work as I have to figure a better placement for the air filter and need to pick up one of DP's fan kits and a cline regulator when the pocket book will allow.

HPI Super Nitro Rally almost completely stock and all original save for the front lower control arm I broke last week and the tires are a few weeks old. Ran an O.S. .12 CV with a 10A carb before installing the 26. Right before I put the 26 in I upgraded to a "stock" HPI two speed trans with a shoe type clutch running 18/41 and 22/39 gears. Port matched the head to the 40 intake manifold. Running a 10E carb because the linkage was easier to figure out. Things are pretty tight behind the engine, I have to compress the suspension to adjust the throttle stop and high speed needle. Using Kyosho engine mounts I picked up ages ago and had to drill new holes in the pan since the exiting ones wouldn't work.

Again, many many thanks to all those who have shared ideas!

*edit* seems I need to post a bit before I can post links... so c/p for pics I guess

I love it. looks good

if you ever need more speed out of it look for the RS4 3 18SS bevel gears.
the stock is 38T bevel and 13T pinion. the 18 SS has 36T bevel gear and 14T pinion gear. anyone know how much that effects is speed stock gearing was 52T spur 13T pinon 31 Mph?

Are you sure you have the pinion spur right? Those seem very low especially for the FS26.

38 / 13 bevel with 52/13 spur pinion would give you an 11.9 fdr. The FS26 max rpm is around 27K so you would be doing 17 mph

36 / 13 bevel with 52/13 spur pinion would give you a 10.29 fdr. At 27K rpm you would be at 20 mph.

Just to give you an idea, here is what I'm running on my TG10 Mk.2. I'm running 0.8 mod pitch gears.

Bevel / Pinion: 39/15
Spur/Pinion: 54/23 1st gear, 48/29 2nd gear
FDR: 6.1 1st gear, 4.3 2nd gear

Speed: 1st gear 33 mph, 2nd gear 46 mph. The motor does not even sweat these ratios.

I plan on going much higher in pinion, 34T to 36T, so I can get her into mid 50s.

its not a 1/10 sized car it's 20% bigger, takes 300mm bodies (which are impossible to find now lol)

check the manual on HPI's site it says it can exceed 31mph it is an off road car though.

I did tach the stock engine FE .15 with the aluminum fly wheel the engine was able to turn 15,000 rpm.

With the roll out of the bigger tyres, 30+ is possible.. tyres act like gears

I've been waiting for a longer belt for my Spada project but it seems mail has lost my package from A-main containing this 222mm belt. I ordered a new one elsewehere but haven't got it yet. Until I get it, there's not much to do. Have a Saito pipe that seems an improvement over the stock spada composite pipe with the OS FS (no surprise there, right)

Otherwise it's pretty nice; tranny and gearing works fine, carbon chassis is ok, even have a larger bumper and a carbon top dec waiting.. after I get the belt and final tests done, I will fabricate a new chassis from 3mm carbon for a final "product". Then eventually a new body for the whole thing.

Cheers

Nice Raman! Familiar sound

Finally got my belt and it's a perfect fit. It's a bit narrow so I will get another one and put two side by side just to be safe. Soon..

Mika,

Try this company for belts..

https://sdp-si.com/eStore/

select metric, then Belts - cables, then timing belts.. maybe you can find a belt that fits better
