Wow - you must have got the Monday morning motor Matt.
These babies fire up and run-in real easy, and I found the carb very easy to adjust - more so than the GX. It fired up first time at factory settings, then I just leaned the bottom a little at a time until we were ready to hit the track 12 tanks later. Your ho must be being a little difficult

where can i find a list and pics of all new products.? i've seen the new gx2 5 port,which i want, but i heard about some other stuff.

this is by far the tightest engine I have ever tried to break in. By taking the carb off I may have caused an air leak. I sealed every thing /carb/backplate so I am going to try later this morning. I had to try and lean it so it would stay running. The engine was throwing fuel out the exhaust like crazy!!!! I don't tune to temp but I had my t-gun handy. It likes the 250-270 range. I also use massive mods run in oil which I have used on every go engine I have broken in. temps here today are going to be around 75 degrees f so I plan on running at least 10-12 tanks through it today. Grizz if you see this or any one else,what are your needle settings at? hsn 3 hours in/lsn 1full turn in? If some one with this engine could post the settings I would appreciate it.

on a race tune with 30%,6.5 venturi and 2072 pipe im flush on both needles,maybe the lsn is in from flush by a 1/4 at most.

Thanks. We are running the same set up. Only I left the bigger venturie in for breakin.

That tight? I bet you wish it would have came with an extra con
rod. Keep a close eye on it. I hope to hear more input about this
engine from you guys here in the U.S.A.. After all that's what this
thread was supposed to be all about.

i was surprised to hear they dint come with a extra conrod like the GX5r/7r engines, but after all a new conrod is only 11.50

I.m sitting here thinking, did I get that monday morning engine? Trey has stated that these engines had a softer pinch then the previous models. Mine isn't the case. And from what I've been reading that seems to be the general consensus. I use the break in procedure that is on grizz's web site. Been doing it that way for years before it was on his web site. Also will the rod from the gx series or the gen 5.5 series work? this engine WILL require a rod after 1-2 gallons.
Trey/motomatt/puddin any one of the factory guys chime in and let me know if in fact I got the 1 in a hundred. Or are they all like this? I've had the GO experience before with the tightness but not to this degree. I am thinking of straying away from the cycle method and running continuous tanks through it til it losses some of it's pinch. This will be tank 2 going through it today so I would just keep filling the tank until I hit tank 6 with out shutting it down to cool then start over.

Good I have a few of those!!! I think I should get ahold of Trey and see what his opinion is. I saw his engine a few pages back. He's abused the heck out of it for 3 gallons and still no con rod play. I know mine will not last that long.
And where are the other guys that got their engines? Are they having issues with the tightness? Or are they hooking them up/heating no problems?
I would hate to see 1 of these going for the magazine test and get a bad review. Since I am familiar with the go line I will keep the break-in process going until I hear from Trey telling me I may have the monday morning engine.
One last thing I'm not bitching or trying to discredit this engine in any way,but if in fact my particular engine is that 1 in a hundred I think some one in authority should know before I blow it sky high then say hey,I had trouble from the get go.

I'm sure Trey will express his concern about your engine as
soon as he chimes in on this thread Matt. You have shown
some great support for GO Engines U.S.A. and I'm sure he
will do what ever it takes to keep you happy.

i would just keep pluggin away at it, it will loose'in up, it will take atleast 5 to 6 takes before you notice a differnce in pinch.

I'm in no way unhappy. I just want to let Trey or some one who has already dealt with this engine know,is this a problem or is it normal? I don't want to blow the ass out of it when maybe the factory or Trey want to see whats up with it.
I'll fill in a little of my back ground. I was a ASE certified master tec at one time. The thing I learned from the get go is no-one knows every thing. some of us were good at engine diagnostics yet couldn't do a brake job. So when a problem arose we would get our heads together to figure the problem out. We would all learn something,and in the repair business time is money don't waste time!
I haven't pm'd Trey yet,just want to know what is the norm for this engine. And if Trey comes on and says yes in fact that's not right then I'll ship it back to him and wait for the other to arrive.
