Thought so, but wasn't sure.

Pavel, from what you describe the motor was too rich for the hot day...what was causing your flameouts out of the pits can be caused if the tank is filled all the way to the rim of the tank and when the lid snaps shut it forces extra fuel into the motor that all ready a little rich from the tune...this causes the car to splutter away from the pit, most of the time it will clear its self but if the excess fuel puts out the glow of the plug the motor will cut out.
also as matt said a rich lsn and too wider idle gap can add to it going rich out of the pits.

I destroyed a GX II in less than two gallons. I had it broke in and shipped to me. One gallon was the break in. I didnt even get a fulll gallon on it racing. I had problems tuning from the get go. I am a novice at nitro tuning so I am sure thats where I went wrong. I dont know if the motor is too advanced for my skill level or what but never the less its toast. Be very careful tuning your motor and ask lots of questions. It was fast for a little while. Then it started eating plugs and flaming out CONSTANTLY!!! Where can I find a piston/sleeve combo for this motor and how much does it cost?

Sounds like you were running it way too lean. Remember - no smoke, or very little smoke out the exhaust = no oil, or very little oil going through the motor.
That's a shame, as the GXII is a very powerful and reliable motor under normal conditions.
Check out our tuning guide if you venture down the same path again. It is based on the GO motors we sell, but applies to all .21 nitro motors really. As does the break-in and maintainence guide.

Hope this experiance doesn't put you off the GO brand, They are a great product.

Na, new piston and sleeve will make it new again right? Im sure the other internal parts are good due to the lack of run time. Where is this break in and tuning guide for the GX II? I was pretty dissapointed when i realized it was done. I will give it another shot.

There is a good chance you just might need a pinch. How bad is your p/s?

Well, put it this way, with the "gravity test", I can spin it like its a party favor. Absolutely no pinch or compression left. runs fine until about 180 degrees the dies if you arent on throttle, and sometimes even on throttle. :(

rider313 07-11-2011 10:19 AM

Yep any good pincher should be able to get you going again for $15. It's it's to bad they will tell you it is and you can go with the P/S. Pm 22Racer on here tell him I sent you to and you need a pinch on your p/s and he will set you up right.

Ok. Thanks man.

This past weekend Moto Matt and crew came down to the 2011 Summer Slam which Nitro North sposored the event as well. Most of the time Sponsors just send stuff but when they come out and participate in the event it is just awsome. There was a lot of os engines and werks engines but more Go engines than any brand. There were more Go engines at this event than I have ever seen at any event. I wanna Thank Moto and crew for comming. A great group of guys.
I hope you guys will come on out for the 2012 Summer Slam

Would a leaking front bearing be causing my tuning issues? Sorry for the noob question lol

possible, mine leaked so bad you could suck water back into the crank case. I put in another go bearing that had both seals in place tuning issue fixed.

BMenard17 07-12-2011 04:26 PM

Is there a tutorial on how to remove the bearings without damaging anything? Or just a simple how to?
