A friend of mine was having problems with his GTR last wknd. I took a look at the chassis, the first thing I noticed was a lot of dirt stuck to chassis around the engine area. I asked him Wat that was he said he spilt a lot of fuel while refueling his car.
But it seemed a bit strange to have such a mess like that.
Anyway I replaced the plug, had a go at tuning, but nothing was working. It was just dead off the bottom and kept flaming out. I knew it wasn't good!
So the following week he came around after work so we could take a closer look. Turns out the bottom of the block had a long crack right down the centre and also around near the back plate. He told me after he had a big crash it just started running really badly. He is still very new to the hobby and is crashing a lot as he learns to drive, so I would say that last crash was the final blow.
I drove his car a few months before and got it to race tune for him. I liked the engine it was nice to drive, very smooth power, just lacking some durability..

I used an Arrow 3 ports for 9 gallons until the rod broke. Until then, the engine was perfect. Just replaced a front bearing on fifth gallon. Considering the price, was the best engine I ever had!
Consider the needles positions discussed on this topic, not the positions of the manual.

I may be over thinking this but since the screw head "points in two directions" how do I know its pointed at 2 and not 8?
The instructions i got with my Arrow said the midrange needle is supposed to be flush with carb body, is this correct or should i be doing something different?

Arrow might be made at the Go Factory but they are not the same as Go Engines. There are only a few factories in Taiwan, so many different brands are made in the same place.

Mid range - 2 turns out from flush at 2 oclock
Top 1.5-2.5 turns out from all the way in
Bottom 1/2-1 turn in from flush

For break in the settings are not important, just set them so it starts and idles good and keep the temps between 200-240'F.

Did 6 tanks n try full throttle with extremely rich HSN, BUT the sound of starving fuel/misfiring. Is this carb tune like 2 needle carb? Or i need to tune the mid needle?
