No sir. I haven't.
Just arrive. We just got it in 2 days ago. Will feedback on it's performance.
The Engine
The new engine runs cooler. Better runtimes. I ran it in the our Nationals.......last week....first big test.....freaking fast compare to it's previous. Ran a 25 mins semifinal....Pit 8.30 mins...twice....each refill fuel had about 40 cc left......Fuel gun: Losi..........6 mm venturi..........good size track............

Hey guys. Sorry if this seems like a silly question, or if its been asked a million times before.
I have an Os vz-b v-spec that I wanted to rebuild with the arrow parts, as I'd read this is possible.
My question is, can I use the new 5 port sleeve or do I have to use the 3 port version? And also does the crankshaft fit in as well?
My intention is to rebuild the Os as well as get a whole new arrow and have two great engines
Cheers
Dave

Thanks man. Do you know if the crankshaft fits as well? A dlc crank seems like a good idea
I should also add, these will be getting used in an rc8t truggy, so in your opinion which would be better suited to my fat heavy truggy?

i am curious as to how you noticed this because when the engine is new it is very tight and difficult to turn over by hand. i would think it would be hard to feel the bearings when the engine is so tight??

ok. so yesterday i was running the engine and it was coughing and spluttering in the mid-range but was clear at the bottom and top. had a good puff of smoke but not too excessive. even on the base settings suggested by gene and danny it would so this. if i drive it it is ok. it cleans out and i can drive it no problem, but if my kids drive it they get and 30 seconds and it stops. they are learning so going slow and it kind of stays in the mid-range.
i tried leaning the man half a turn and a full turn but it still stopped. anyone else experienced this or have suggestions for a solution? i also changed from a p3 to a p4 and it was the same so i went back to the p3. on the box it is fine but when you put load on it, it is like it is super rich!
cheers

Some of the carbs are defective and you can not turn the lsn 1 turn in or it binds. Here in the USA, we check each engine before shipping and set the needles to our recommended settings. If the carb is bad, we replace it then.
Also, make sure you always open the slide before adjusting the idles or lsn. And turn the mid range out 2 turns before turning in the lsn.

after 1.5lts of fuel i was turning it by hand to get the piston bottom and as i was turning it. It felt grindy so i took it to a mate who has the same engine and even he said it dont feel right so i took the piston and sleeve out and just left the bearings and crankshaft in with the flywheel on and turned it over and found out that it is the rear bearing
