up date on the .23

Will today I put another 500 cc in the 23. So now I have a total of 1500 cc ran though this engine. I ran it today with the body on with out the head wrapped. I leaned the low speed some more and the high. I got a temp of 230f for a high temp. My low speed to my mid almost high is coming along great now. This guy is screaming now with the tb-1 pipe with the 7.5 stinger. Im am proud to be running this argus .23 for the season. The outside temp were around 57 to 65.

my car setting as of now which I would think might be a safe zone
idle is 3.70mm out from carb body
lsn is in 1.0 mm this will change some more at the track
hsn needle is out from body .40mm

does any body else have carb setting on there 23 yet.i know they all are different from area to area. Just would like to see what some other settings are right now.and if you can measures them in mm that would be great I dont use turn in or out. Also did anyone get a run time yet. My track should be open next week if they get it done. Cant wait to run it and shot a video.
this is gonna turn some heads. Great job on team argus.

Just finish running my argus .23 back to back w/a dynamite ht007 and the argus 0801. Just on the street. The 0801 mellows the bottom out and smoother w/ way more top end. I got about gal. thru it now and temps are around 235-240. The bottom is in 3 hrs from factory and the top is in 4 hrs from factory. Making alot of power. Gotta thank Rex for a great motor. Will try compare the 0801 and the dynamite 007 with the tb-1 thus weekend.

Wow your setting are really far from mine. What is you outside temps at. I have the 0801 pipe also. Did not try it yet. I seem to be liking the tb-1 pipe. I had my hearing aids in today. The tb- Pipe with the 7.5 seem to scream on the low end for now. The thing I like about the tb pipe is one pipe for many tracks. The smaller the stinger the more bottom the bigger the more top. I think this will favor most people. But please do post your findings also. I will try the 0801 out this weekend. But runtime well have to wait till I hit a track in race mode lol

Double post sorry

It was 73. I didnt turn the needles out when I first got it. It started and was blowing out plenty oil and smoke and gurgling throughout breakin. Temps never went over 210. And I did that for over a half gal just started leaning on it. I'll probably stay around these settings until the weather really stabilizes. Its been up and down weekly by 20 or so degrees.

I dont have a track within 2-3hrs of mre so its a lil hard for me to get track time. Curious to hear how the combo with the tb-1 or 0801 does for you on the track. Give me something to look forward too lol.

Did you lower your idle gap yet. I can just see a gap with the 8.0 reducer in. Which is around .56 really low idle.

Will if you just bashing around you should probably stay on the rich side of a tune then. Just a little. Hopefully one will open up you way again.

Thats what I was thinking. No need for me to ruin a motor. Ive heard of argus engines going 6-8 gal. before needing a rebuild. And thats on a race tune. So I figure keep a good trail of smoke and dont on it to hard and I should be ok. Hopefully I'll get to a track soon just to see some of the true performance.

Yeah I had to tinker w/the idle screw but not much, just looked at it and there is a tiny gap w/the reducer in. I didnt get an accurate measurement but it looks about 1mm gap from the reducer. So far it'll settle into a nice idle 30 seconds before I feel like I should blip the throttle a bit.

You should measure your idle gap with the reducer out.
