Argus .23

I have received My Argus .23 and tb 1 pipe set. This is going in my truggy. two question Does any one know what the extra shim in the engine box is for. Is that a break in shim. what reducer seem to give the best run time for a large track for the .23. I am thinking im gonna try the .7 reducer out in the pipe first that should be a middle finding to tell me if i got to go up or down. I am gonna use lock tight for the pipe reducer to keep it in there. I think it would need to be done. will give a follow up once i break this in after i get an answer on the head shim gonna be running 30% vp fuel. with an od 97 plug and use the t3 ultra hot plug for break in though.

I do not use the break in shim. Your engine is lapped and shouldnt need much break in anyway. The included T3 plug works well for break in but when you get to a race tune might be a little hot. Locktite is a good idea on the stinger, I have had some say they lost theirs. Smaller exhaust restrictor= more bottom.

Ok thanks for the reply I will run it as is. I was never a fan of hot plugs any ways. So the t3 should work good for break in then to the od 97 after that is done. I will try break in this weekend weather permitting. The last lapped job you did was great no problems at all. So I expect the same easy break in again and be ready for race tune around 1000c again. Will post some pic when I get it installed maybe a video also.

The driver tips are a hardened steel, they remind me of Dynamite tools and may be the same.

Yes sir! Argus now has 4 engines, R8 is very similar to the Alpha Lutz, .23, D52 .21 and the A5 is like the Alpha F850 club racer. Here are a few pics. I actually only have one .23 left and will need to order more engines soon. Almost sold out of pipes also. I have more pics on my site also at www.rw-mods.com

I just tried one and it held the plug but it doesnt appear to have a magnet in it. It is steel so I will try to magnetize it, it does look small enough on the outside dia. to work on the Losi style clutch nut.

Yes I just installed a bone stock .23 in my truggy with the tb-1 pipe I used the 7.5 stinger for the pipe for now. Waiting for my local shop to get some fuel in since the season is just starting. I did pick it up from rex from rw mods with the hand lapping for an easy break. So far there are some nice thing that look good for the engine and pipe. I will be giving a review once I get some fuel in this combo.
