Has anyone been running one in a truggy if so how was the powerband?

I know of two that are running the Argus in truggies and both say they have plenty of power and getting over 10 minutes. Still appear as strong as anything on bottom and top. One is running 801 pipe and the other is running a Werks pipe (can not remember which one). He took 3rd in race last weekend after having issue on a pit stop. Come in to pit over 1/2 lap over second, but bad luck cost him the win.

I personally have driven a truggy with an Argus on it. Basically feels like your driving an extremely stable buggy. Plenty of power, didn't see it lacking for anything.

i run the "Argus" in my Zmxt-8 "Z-car". in fact that was me you are talking about. i was out in front by at least a 1/2 lap less than 3 minutes into the "A". then i lost one of the nuts that hold the top of the shock on (front) came in to the pit to get it fixed. by the time my pit guys got it Ziptied back on i was back to 6th or 7th. went back out and worked my way all the way up to 2nd, got past on the last lap ended up 3rd.

i will be honest here as for the "Argus" at first i was not so impressed, seemed kinda fat and blubbery reguardless of what i did with the tune, real fat on the bottom. but now that i have a gallon and 1/2 plus on the A52 and changed to a JP3 pipe, it is really coming to life, i am impressed now along with quite a few of the other guys i run with. the engine has plenty of power. i was pulling every truck in the field down the front strait as well as in the short shoots, no problem clearing any of the jumps, including the big triple at the "Asylum". I out qualified the field by a whole lap. i was the only non pro to run a 13 lap qual 13/5:22

my results so fare with the ZMXT-8/Argus combo

01/01/11 FL Roar State warmup race: qual/3rd finished/1st "A" main Sportsman

01/09/11 FL Roar series race: qual/8th finished/5th "A" main sportsman

01/15/11 Club race "Rotunda" qual/1st finished/2nd (thanks to my pit women. my wife was pitting me and man she takes her time putting fuel in, came into the pits in first, left the pit in 4th. but i love her anyways)

01/22/11 "Asylum" 1st or winter series races: Qual/1st finished/3rd "A" sportsman.

These engines are the real deal. great power and i am getting 12:30 run time in my truggy with a 7mm restrictor and a JP3 pipe. this combo will be my choice for the rest of the year.

I was talking about another driver, but Jonathan did tell me about your deal. The shock thing sucked. If your like me, the strange failures never happen when you are running in the back. LOL Good luck next time.

yes, never when your running in the back.

the shock mount bolts on the "Z-car" are just long enough to get the nut on, only 28mm. i have ordered some 30mm and 35mm long ones. that way i can get a little more of the nut past the end of the bolt. live and learn.

i will be at the PNB and i am still planning on coming up there (NC) the first weekend in April. so see ya at the PNB i will be there mid morning of the 9th

I run one in my Losi 2.0T. Running fat got over 10 mins a tank and picked up a second on lap times. Kinda funny going down the back straight coming up on a Losi runnin a Nova plus 4 and I ran right up his back end...... yea they have plenty of power for a truggy.

Ill be getting my new truggy in the 3rd, along with a new argus for it. I plan on getting it fully broken in this weekend at the track and running the next series race on the 12th. Ill keep everyone updated. I also plan on messing with restrictors to check different runtimes...

I am interested in your restrictor test. Temps in AZ should be what I am hoping to see in a couple of months. LOL Do not know if temps will have a big difference or not, but if you do not mind, post the temps when you do some testing.

LOL...I had to go to AZ a couple of years ago and took my wife with me. I remember eating breakfast out on the patio of the resort we stayed at. It was 65 and we had on short sleeves. Everyone else was walking around in coats looking at us like we were crazy. Good luck!
