That's disinformation, all the Taiwan engines are designed to run the OS style plugs and most of them come with one or a copy. So it is infact the complete opposite, why would anyone choose to run a nova plug in it?

We went through this a few years ago on here. (search for it) I checked taper on a optical comparator and all plugs I checked at the time were the same taper. The Os plugs have relief where the taper meets the threads. Os does not tap their head buttons as deep as say a Nova. Putting a Nova plug in a Os will sometimes stop before seating the taper. Os plug in a Nova works fine but with the relief it tends to distort the head button so if you go back to Nova plugs it may leak.

What Mod did you do on that R8? What plug do you guys like in your R8?

I did this engine for Kendall lat year and he only ran it 3 times last year and 3 times this year. Every time out it we were able to pit at 9 minutes and it has great useable power.

For the mod on his R8 I ran the D52 style full circle crank with added crank timing. It also has a modified backplate and an Avid ceramic rear bearing. There is no dremel cuts in the engine, all stock ports.
Kendall was running a Orion 2058 but the last 2 races he has ran the 0801, the 0801 is more bottom end. About the same mileage with either. Kendall uses the 8mm carb insert. We use Od 97t or 77t plugs and honestly I may have changed it once in the 6 weekends on it.

I always get a kick out of watching things on pit lane during events. I see engines I hear about here on Rc tech with big claims of 12 minutes etc. I saw last weekend on of the engines engineered for fuel mileage come into the pits at 6 minutes! Adam Drake and Kendall were the only 2 to go more than 7.5 minutes. It would be great to pit at 10 minutes and I think we could with Kendalls setup but it is just too close and I dont like running out of fuel. It is however really nice to wait 3-4 laps after everyone cycles through and you have a nice clear pit lane to pit.

I really enjoy my stock r8. What do you get with the mod you created on the modded r8? Sounds like a cool combo.

I was the only one besides Adam to pull off 10 minute stops last weekend from all the nitro mains. I also found it funny all the guys with "high Mileage" engines only doing 7:30 stops.

I thought you might have went 10 also Danny, did it bite you in Truggy? There also seemed to be alot of flamouts in the mains but I wasnt sure if it was people trying to push mileage.

The biggest change with modifying the R8 is more mid and top end.

For sundays mains i went with a different engine in truggy, and only did 8 minute stops for not having time with this engine on the track. Stupid me never changed the plug when i dropped it in, half way through the A the plug decided it had enough.

helllo i have an argus a5 engine using 25% rb fuel with edit efra 2032 pipe and long manifold 8mm venturi in carb nad novarrosi c6tcq clow plug.engine running about 100 to 110 celsius temperature.great power no flame out but i need more runtime.the best i get is around 8 minutes.if i use 7mm venturi i will be able to get 10 minutes runtime??

It should be running a little warmer than 110 degrees, try leaning it out some more. with 25% you should take out one .1mm head shim also. I am not familiar with the 2032 pipe though.
