have you tried running the shoes in the opposite direction? thats suppose to make for a snappier response. but haven't tried it with the losi shoes

Well I had my first race back at the Fear Farm with my Argus D52 and wow this engine runs good. The best way to explain it in my own words is that it has the most torque of a super smooth engine I have ever driven. What I mean by this is that I had an Alpha Dragon and loved that engine because it was super smooth with good top end but if it had a down fall it was if you did not run the perfect line and needed some extra pop with a short run up it didnt really have that however this Argus engine is silk smooth yet has plenty of bottom it makes all of the jumps easier but with the smooth feel you have grip even when the track is lacking grip. I have a quick video of a few laps but I have to worn you the camera man is pretty shakey so it is hard to watch.

Rex Yes this is running with 0801 pipe This weekend I TQed both quals and won the 20min main. I am very pleased with this engine and there are a few guys already that say this is their next engine. In the video I do a jump towards the driver stand that none of the pros at nitro challenge where doing it is really tough to make the table after it but with this argus engine it makes the car feel like it has unreal traction but the bottom end to hit this type of jump. I am really impressed. |
Wow.. Nice driving. Awesome track too - big and open, letting these engines (face it, the cars are secondary.. ;) ..) show what they can do.. I wish more tracks were like that. That engine definitely seems to have the nuts..

Nice video, great driving. Looks like you had a lot of power all around the track.

Thanks for the compliments guys I am happy to let you guys see what this engine is capable of. Honestly I am very excited about this engine it makes great power, it is butter smooth and best of all the thing just runs and runs. Even if the engine is rich and the idle is really low it just keeps running and doesnt want to die. I had Rex at RW mods lap in the engine before he sent it to me and I will never break in another engine without having it lapped in again. This service made break in so much easier and it is so much easier on the internal parts. Guys I got this engine around 4pm on thursday evening and had to put clutch on and filter and make the carb angle adjustments all before dropping in the buggy for breakin, I then went through a good breakin as Rex suggests in his break in video then had to strip the car back down clean the engine and car, put it all back together again and head out of state for its first race at 6am the following morning. I then ran some rich practice and had it at race tune by end of practice and saturday morning was racing againt Adam Drake and Cody King and Kyle McBride and a slew of other pros. Had this engine given me any fits through the whole process I would not have been able to make it in time but the entire process and weekend the engine ran great.
I know I have said it already but thanks again Rex I really appreciate you getting the engine lapped in and shipped out so quickly and thanks for suggesting such a great engine combo. |
I think i see what jump ur talking about, there isnt much run up to that one for as long as you where flying! Cant wait to get mine out and hit some jumps! ;)

Finally ran my truggy with the argus .23 and TB-1 pipe today at my local track! Ran a few rich tanks then changed plugs to the OD 97 and race tuned it! WOW this engine has some serious low end! The high end was getting better as i ran it. Temp was only 240, I'm sure i could have went leaner yet, But at almost 10min a tank a fuel i cant complain! Cant wait to get back out on the track!!!!

I actually think I'll have to gear it up... Could use alittle more speed, and this engine pipe combo seems to have more then enough torque to Handel it...
|
I would say the track has two long fast straits and alot of hard acceleration spots... Kinda hard on fuel mileage I would say... Plus it was like 55 yesterday... Wonce it warms up I'm sure I can do better then 10min
Here's a video of what the track was like from last year... It wad pretty close to this layout yester day http://youtu.be/P3OqNUmcst0 |
