I'm about to break in my last V-Spec before the new ones are released in the USA. My opinion the V-Spec is one of the best all around motors. You get TONS of power, steady tune, long run times, reliability, geez I could go on forever. I love my speeds too but those are for special occasions, seeing how that kind of power and price isn't needed for small fun club races most races.

The best OS motor I have ever ran is the JP Modified OS V-Spec, I won't start...

I honestly think some people have problems because they don't break them in properly and one the THIRD tank start beating on them, or run the bottom to lean, or can't tune a motor in general very well and blame the motor.

Dymanite's engines are junk. Sorry but they have a small RPM range. The power comes on fast and they top out faster. Their practical RPM rang ends at 32 to 34,000. No matter how good a driver is he will lose the race in the strait away.

I know of a pro that chooses to run these dyn engines, I have pitted for him serveral times and NEVER have I seen him get over 7:30 with the .21 and he pits at like 6 - 6:30 with the .24 or .28......It does run pretty well.

They are not junk. I know a driver that ran this engine at worlds 08.

DYNAMITE PLATINUM .21XP VP
RPM 3,000 38,000
HP: 2.8

PLATINUM .21XPE
RPM 3,000 - 40,000

And I disagree with the straight away. I have never seen anyone just pass him on any part of the track, nor have I seen him underpower on any part of anyone of our 5 tracks.
Are they the best no, but for the price of the engine. They are not bad engines at all.

Do you have some footage of this. All the dynamites I've seen and some where modded ran like crap. Thoes people where expeirenced in the hobby. The practical RPM range is where the engine stops making power. You say 38 and 40,000 RPM's they are redlining at 36 and 38,000 RPM. For the price you get just what you pay for.

Tell that to Kendall Welch(Fastest racer is MN & Nebraska), taking 2nd RIGHT behind Cody King at this year's X-fest, Kendall had him for a good 5 min till he had a bobble and let cody out a couple corners and couldn't make it up.

Point being, Dynamite motor are NOT junk.

he kicks butt with both so its kinda a moot point , the JC Nats when he laid it down on Jason Ruona was the true dyna, the X-fest was the Alpha.

as its been said with all the re-branding and what not, there really isn't a BEST motor out there, but a whole bunch that work just dandy for most guys.

Maximo 09-24-2010 08:41 AM

Guy should buy one of my B5's and be done...14 minute runtimes, and enough power to smoke a OS Speed !

Chris Peralta 09-24-2010 08:59 AM

Pimplegreen, You really shouldn't be asking a bunch of people you have never met about an engine your gona spend your $$ on!!! For one our altitude makes a HUGE difference that most people on here don't understand, not to mention the tuning window is very very small at our altitude. Yeah there are some knowledgeable people here on RCT but in general all your going to get is biased answers or someone telling you to buy what they are selling at the time. Most people here say the B5 is a powerhouse engine in any buggy or truggy and I am sure you have seen with your own two eyes they struggle in a truggy up here. I am sure a modded engine is going to make more power for you but as a person thats fairly new to tuning these engines it might also be a lot harder for you to tune. You have a lot of people here locally that can offer you a lot of help, there is a reason you don't see many of the fast guys around here running economy $200 engines.
